Full disclosure: I haven’t played it, but I have watched people playing it and read the comments about it. If you are on the forum complaining about grenade or ability “spamming” then you are part of the problem with D2. Ultimately, Bungie is responsible for the watered-down, weak, neutered mess of D2, but they built it to cater to players like you that hate fun. All of PVP should play like Crimson Doubles and the best part of the Destiny universe (PVE) wouldn’t be suffering due to your asinine perspectives. One other note, it is clear that the power ammunition economy for all PVP needs revisiting - possibly reverting to D1’s method of distribution as the best option.

  • Hmmmm... Haven’t played it but “I know better”... sure. I’m not going to complain about the problems in Crimson Doubles(I won’t even post my thoughts to Cozmo here)... but your opinion is not only unqualified, but totally wrong and backwards. How it’s wrong: When I first ran into two hunters who were throwing skip grenades repeatedly at heavy, I thought “ok cool, let’s counter this”. On our team was a titan and a warlock, so the initial Strat was to drop a rally barricade along with a healing rift... we even equipped a chest of the Alpha Lupi for extra heals, aaaaand NOPE, The repeated skip grenades easily killed us through two separate buffs. So we switched to suppression grenades, The enemy team simply ran away and got behind the next wall, continuously throwing skip grenades. Since they ran away we should be able to take the objective, granted we were tied up on kills? Nope, the same strategy of skips that was applied at heavy... How your opinion is backwards: Look, I’m sure that you spoke out of turn, and perhaps if you would’ve played an experienced this, you wouldn’t be speaking so boldly about who is destroying the game. Because this shit infested what would’ve been a fun game mode by the middle of the week, which caused myself, and several other members of my clan to not take part, is not a good thing. We were simply trying to play the game and have a good time, and being exploited, we are not villains for not enjoying things like this.... it’s no different then the nova bomb glitch in Mayham, ruining an otherwise fun game to play via exploitation. This community is hell-bent on shitting all over itself, while salivating at the chance to hit the forums and spit on anyone who questions This kind of unsportsmanlike garbage... then after beating that same exploit into the ground, bitch and moan when it gets nerfed.

  • Unlucky, I ran into only one hunter doing skips 🤔 while playing. I only ran into void hunters constantly going invisible that I could shoot, but they would Take No damage 😓 . Smh 🤦‍♂️

  • As someone who has played the game, obviously you have a valid opinion on it (and there is always a chance that Bungie/Cozmo sees this). My opinion is based on observations and reading. I don’t think that CD is how the PVP aspect should be, only closer to it. Actually it would be best if it were closer, if not exactly like D1 (I say that as a player with over 2700 hours in D1). While I am a decent PVP player, I prefer PVE and overall I think the game would greatly benefit from a huge jog in the direction of D1. Your frustration with CD is my general frustration with the game itself. I refuse to play it until it is improved. If it never moves in the direction I would like, I am okay with walking away from it.

  • I appreciate your civil reply, even in the face of me telling you what I think is wrong about your opinion. You obviously understand that I can be in disagreement with you without being your enemy. However, the crucible being more balanced, playing at a slower pace, be more team focused, is not the same thing as the kind of exploitation that comes from things being too amped. Right now the crucible is very hard on people who have little gun skill, map awareness, timing, ability to coordinate, and knowledge concerning positioning. This needs to be addressed, this I think everyone can agree on, but it cannot happen at the core level of gameplay. Because people refuse to play as a team does not mean that we should randomize the foundation of the game. If this happens, I can assure you that we will be on the road to constant seasonal meta-shifts, Featuring crippling nerfs...

  • Absolutely, we can disagree and get along. Your last paragraph is essentially the state of D1. I think that there is a place for adjusting weapons seasonally for the purpose of changing the gaming experience, but that is not what was happening in D1. They were constantly nerfing popular weapons for the sake of that elusive balance and “fairness”. I’m in the camp of the bigger teams, more chaos, more fun without any concern for balance is the best PVP experience, but then I don’t care one bit about playing competitively. In that regard, locked load outs is seriously what the developers should be considering for PVP instead of the raids. It is the easiest way to bring balance and a level playing field to PVP. I’m against implementing locked load outs in any form of PVE. Let me play it the way I prefer.

  • I love the new prestige mode idea of giving us a challenge to have in the raid, if that's what your talking about. If so and you wanna play without loaded lockouts then do the other difficulty mode. Unless I miss heard and this isn't a third mode then yes it should be a third difficulty so people have normal, hard and then prestige with the load lockout where you have to use the guns they are telling us to use. And I'm sure they will make it rewarding. (well maybe not but I'm hopeful). But I like raiding or any PvE different all the time, always switching my loadouts but I also live this new challenge idea of saying hey try that this way. But if that's not what your talking about then ignore my response. Lol

  • That is what I was talking about. I think the idea (which was mentioned last summer as a possibility by Luke Smith) is okay, but it depends upon what kind of restrictions are implemented with it. In general, I don’t like the idea for the raid and prefer challenges of a different kind. I do think that locked load outs is perfect for competitive PVP though.

  • When it comes to chaos and fun, we are in total agreement, outside of damaging the core of the game, let’s demand creative solutions! Here’s mine, please support! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/243125655/0/0

  • Lol. I’m laughing because I remember that post and I didn’t read it, but my first thought was that it was immediately better than the current version of faction rally. You put a lot of thought and creativity into it.

  • I did after you said that and I actually read the post. It reminds of the conquest mode in Battlefield 1, which was the only mode I would play. The only thing I would prefer is like someone suggested, there needs to be a way for guardians to opt out of the in-world PVP aspect of it. The worst part of The Division is the dark zone, so just like some players avoided entering it so players might like to not have to participate in it every time they log in for the week.

  • Absolutely, on the opt in. It will still be fun for players who want to play solo or cooperative because of the in-game ecology, and struggling against the AI/minions of Darkness in a persistent battle for control of territory! If players neglect zones, they will become darkness zones(eventually summoning champions), where if you die, you’ll have to be rez’d or spawn at the closest base or controlled out post. I’m about to update the idea, with the idea that if an entire planet is controlled by the darkness, it spawns a massive 8 man battle as you tear ass through the entire planet in a long strike-esque raid of sorts🤩. All out, non-mechanics related warfare, with vehicles! At some point each month, an incursion is inevitable, and it will yield wicked rewards, that have exclusive perks related to Faction Wars that make the mode easier, and give the players a feeling of power and progression!

  • Yep' Grenade spamming is only a problem because it's tricky to flank due to waypoint ! I had lot of game which was fluid, but sometimes, the situation seems to freez in a standoff around heavy where each team spam grenade to the other and stay still, and the situation is very intricate to change (due to waypoint :) )

  • I think a faster time to kill would counter act ability spam in general but not for this event where cooldowns are much faster than those in D1.

  • The game desperately needs a faster time to kill.
