Titans useless in PvP

Dear Bungie, Please completely revamp Titan PvP abilities. This is the most useless class. Doesn't matter the spec, we have no advantages for damage or survivability and continuously get wrecked by all other classes. Neither our resilience or recovery level seem to matter at all, which is odd being that we are a heavy armor class, yet maintain the same surivability as light armor classes that don't stack for protection. Our melee abilities for close combat are also terrible and serve no advantages. What's the point of a melee attack such as seismic strike or shield bash if it still takes 3 hits to kill someone? More often than not, this ability is a wasted engagement and we still get two hit killed in close combat. How is that possible? Please try harder and make this class worthwhile, my interest in this game is quickly dissipating - and I refuse to change classes to compensate for a bad design.   • Not useless, but the lack of an evasive maneuver and no extra health for a slow and somewhat clumsy class does make the class worse than Hunters and Warlocks for pvp.

  • I main a Titan, and the only issue I see in the crucible for Titans is how there is really no way to counter a hunter using gemini jesters other than heavy ammo or super. While the other issue I have noticed over several hours of gameplay is the inconsistency with resilience. You're resilience score dictates whether you get two punched or three punched...I run about 8 - 9 resilience and about 6 - 7 recovery on my titan, so I should be a three punch melee for most ppl. Unless you are running an exotic that attributes to more melee damage. However, there is often times in the crucible where I have to three punch a hunter who has 3 resilience, which should be the case. I can deal with that, however, what I can't wrap my head around is that I will take like 2-3 say smg bullets, and then get one punched by a hunter who has no was of ensuring higher melee damage. Further to this I find that sometimes I even get one punched with no previous damage taken. Now I'm not calling bs straight out the bat here, as I could be missing something...but to me this mechanic seem udderly broken. Why stake resilience if it doesn't really seem to always work?

    • Is this OP the same guy who posted “remove hunters from the game” also? These kinds of posts are just ridiculous. Titan strikers are awesomely powerful. I suspect some of these folks want to be able to win without actually firing their guns. Sorry you can’t run around shoulder charging and titan skating anymore. Learn to get kills with your primary weapon! Then you’ll be able to do well with whatever class you play, and guess what? You might have a little fun. My .02 cents worth.

      • My Titan seemed to do just fine in 5-6 matches of doubles yesterday. Perhaps your Titan is just broken. You should ask Bungie for a new one.

            Man I have so much to say right now. #1: Pulse Grenades, existing, especially with the top Striker Path. #2: Have you ever taken the Seismic Strike/Shield Bash etc. into PvE? You wipe adds off the map. #3: On the subject of melees, there is the Synthoceps, in case you ever wanted to punch someone from Mars, as well as both the Sentinel and Striker subclasses having perks that heal you after a melee kill, without the melee being charged. That's fantastic. #4: PvP can't allow stat builds to outweigh gun skill because that's stupid. Titan armor is easier to set up for a specific stat distribution, but that's the extent of its protection. If you need more reasons I'm here all night. You may refuse to change classes because of bad design, but I'm sure Bungie will refuse to change classes because you're bad.

              • Shoulder charge does 150 damage. Normal melee does 70 dmg. Max health =210. Your arguement =wrong.

                I main a Titan on PlayStation and have no problem performing well. Coming from the Hunter did take some adapting though.

              • I mean, they definitely don’t have a build that I love in PVP. Hammers is one of the best supers in the game, but there isn’t a ton of neutral game that makes it worth it to me. With Synthoceps you can play really aggressive if you want, but that’s not really my style so not a huge fan, plus there’s no evade or skating to get you into those close engagements well enough for my taste. The grenades are pretty sweet. The three hit melee sucks. I don’t even try. Hunter is better IMO for almost everything, but that’s just me.
