PSA: You can talk to randoms in PvP by joining team chat
Yes, yes. Not that many people are out there playing PvP D2. No need to explain that. I'm just honestly not sure if 99% of the people who are playing Crucible are even aware that this is an option.

I'm sure it's a setting I've selected but I'm okay with the silence most of the time. Also, I'm old and I fear tampering with technology because these days it's all powered by demons and the blood of sacrificed chickens. That's what they mean by the "cloud", in case anyone didn't know.

I think everyone is aware of this. The problem is that usually people playing solo are doing so to avoid having to communicate. If I want to talk to my teammates I'd play with friends.

4 RepliesThere's an option in the options to auto switch to team chat. Not sure why this isn't just the -blam!-ing default anyway. Bungie dont half do things backwards. If youre in a fireteam of 2 its great to chat with your mate but if you join a PvP together it should switch you to game chat cos you are still talking to your fireteam. Then you can switch if you don't want to chat to the randoms

3 RepliesPeople know. I got yelled at for 10 minutes through my tv speakers in the 2v2 mode the other day. Didn't have my mic on but then I usually don't need to, to adapt as needed and play as a team. Make new friends my ass, no less than half the players I've "met" are turds that I have zero interest in communicating with.

Don't really need communication just pay attention to the feed. If a guy sends my body flying 20 feet with acrius, I expect you to be smart enough not to run after him when he goes into a cave. If you see me get gunned down in .5 seconds that likely means the entire team is there.

I played with the same random 2 games in a row, entered voice chat the 2nd game as I saw he did. Seemed ok at first while we were playing potatoes. He had ok stats but turned out to be pretty bad and annoying as -blam!- as time went on. After I partied up with him and he literally rage quit every match he was doing bad in regardless of the score. Needless to say I deleted and blocked him after a few of those. He went out of his way to save his stats, even asking if I would slow down and let him get the killing blow several times. Lol. Apparently he's a k/d farmer. His name is Scypherix on PSN. Look him up on destiny tracker and laugh at his 75% DNF rate. Voice chat is stupid.

Some times.. I go into team chat and vent ... Say all the mean things I wanna say to my wife n kids to my teams mates.. Thank you team mates. Our therapy sessions have not helped....

Even if a player is playing solo most people will be in party chat with someone else even when they’re on other games. Obviously they won’t use fireteam chat.

Right after they added this in Destiny I joined and the other two ransoms also joined. We talked for a while and ran several strikes together. One of the guys said that he needed to take a few minute break and he would leave so we could find another person. Since we where doing good playing together the other guy said if it’s only going to be for a little bit go afk and come back when you can. The guy said thanks and then proceeded to use the restroom with his mic on. The sounds that came out his headset made me feel sorry for his toilet. I just politely said I gotta go. Turned the game off and never used it again. Not really anything to do with your post but I thought I’d share my horror story with fire team chat.

2 RepliesIt would be nice if everyone was [i]automatically[/i] placed into the channel. Otherwise, "ain't nobody got time fo dat!" It's one of many smaller flaws. Take boons for example. Use them once "in the match." This translates to, "after the game has actually started." Seems foolish.

Pretty sure 99% of the community see when [random name] has entered team chat voice channel when he accidentally pressed it after getting killed when he was just trying to switch the camera to a different teammate.

The moment that people will start thinking about what they do on there side of the mic and what they should say, that would be the moment i will be in voice channel. Untill then i have no interest in hearing people screaming about what they did to my mom, how much i “suck”, what they are pushing down there garbage disposel called a mouth, they are not so fragile that saying hello is enough to make them mad, kids screaming thinking they are safe behind there monitors and can act like “badass cool guys” online and whatever else there is.

I suck at communication, so you won't ever see me giving callouts in PvP. However, I do stay on team chat just in case if someone else is giving callouts , which has only happened once.
