It's cuz loot drops are not meaningful. Getting the same gun for 10s time may upset someone. Because it's a waste of time to get legendary Engrams that have no value other than shards. Not sure why random rolls were removed. They only made the game fun for people that liked to grind out godrolls. They didn't hurt the game. People that put in the time to get the perfect rolls should be rewarded. Game balance isn't messed up if a person has slightly better range on Eysaluna. Just play to your weapons strengths.

  • It's not THAT small of a minority - and primarily the "Yes" crowd clicked on this topic in the first place, because confirmation bias, so we're not alone. Anyone who played (and enjoyed) D1 Y1/Y2 seemed to get along fine without them, it was always a divisive issue and one side won for the sequel - if it had gone the other way, there'd be just as much whining about "too many options / why do I keep getting bad rolls? / should we get rid of Random Rolls?" Once you realize this community just enjoys complaining for the sake of being contrary, it becomes a much more entertaining place to be - kinda like how a lot of single people think children are annoying but once they get married and have their own kids they start thinking it's cute how they drool and fall over and get upset when they see butterflies.

  • I voted no. I don't think that they're the worst thing that could happen. Just that I don't believe that they're a Silver Bullet fix. Static rolls isn't the problem, it's the way they're implemented. But there are plenty of ways they could make the system better with or without returning to random rolls.
