Personally I enjoyed it quite a bit. The new systems for event exclusive packages works out well and is a step up from The Dawning. The PvP game type is fun in a way that allows more action packed, high intensity, ability spamming gameplay that I missed from D1. I will go into more detail below. First the negatives: There is nothing really "new" and exciting to get my hands on and try out. Sure there are cosmetics but that is really it. You could have really built off the whole crimson days idea more adding weapons that either had the perks and/or looks to match the event. The only real added content is in the PvP, which to many is viewed as a flop. So while people who enjoy D2's PvP will be happy with this event, everyone else will just be playing the same game with a few new color pallets. Also the Ghosts given were extremely lack luster and could've been more unique. For example: When near a player with a Crimson Days Ghost shell you both glow red and have your mobility increased by one point. In the PvP the only big problem I have is the Hunters, their abilities were not balanced with spamming in mind and when they do... the game is not fun at all. Pros for the stuff: They system you set up where two packages are dropping per level is great. Also the inclusion of the exotic Sparrow and Crimson Enegrams in the doubles loot pool was an excellent idea allowing players to obtain event loot through gameplay only. Though the event is almost exclusivly PvP the Wardcliff's ornament being obtainable through the raid was a nice touch. Shaders look great and so do the ornaments of the Sweet Buisness and Graviton Lance. The Sparrows, while not very varied, have a cool effect. And the Ghost shell from the Shax quest was great. Pros for PvP: I have played my fair bit of both D1 and D2 PvP so I know what I'm talking about when I say this is a good game mode. Due to the ability charge rate increase when in close proximity with your partner things can get very intense and action packed with grenades flying everywhere. Players are allowed to play more aggressively, using grenades, melees and class abilities to push opponents without the fear of being overpowered by primary fire. When your partner dies you can have hero moments just like in D1 with your attributes increased significantly, making you a hard target to pin down and kill. Just do more of these chaotic, explosive, moment to moment action in all new game modes. Leave the tactical stuff in Trials. Also one thing about the heavy, I am able to out play heavy spammers by using my abilities which feels really nice. The Titain barricade really helps against explosives. Alright Bungie, to be honest the game is not bad at all. Destiny 2 is like a peice of toast with this event being honey. While I do not mind sitting down with a peice of toast and munching it down it isn't enough to fill me and I'll start craving something more. When you put the honey one the toast it improves the experience of eating it but doesnt really fill me up and I'll still be hungry. Crimson days was some good ass honey. But I would still prefer more content with my content. Some more food with my toast. Anyways the direction you taking is good, just keep adding more loot and more fun modes and it could rival D1. But if all else fails just revamp the whole thing like Taken King. Well that's it from me. Happy Valentine's Bungie.
