Could Destiny 2 exist in an alternate timeline?
So I have come up with the perfect fix for most of the problems fans see with D2’s inconsistency with the lore between D1 and D2: the many world interpretation. Using this theory of multiple universes, we can explain away any inconsistencies by saying D2 exists in an alternate timeline/universe than D1. That’s why we’re not Iron Lords anymore. That’s why Osiris was exiled for obsessing over the Vex rather than questioning the Traveler.
This can also explain away the comics (as noncanon because FoO part 2 was pretty bad). The reason it contradicts the in-game lore is because the comics are yet again in another alternate universe.
Do I actually believe this is true? No. But hey I wanted to have fun and lighten the mood with some wild, innocent speculation that didn’t revolve around bashing Bungie. These forums have been a bit depressing lately, so I wanted to make them more fun. Hope you all have a nice day.

1 ReplyOf course it could! There could be an alternate timeline where you never wrote this post, one where Calus is a massive duck floating in space, and so on. There could totally be multiple universes/timelines, however we only have the perspective of one. I believe the comics were created from a different perspective than what was actually said.

I think they should wrap up d2 be explaining everything as a vex hive computer simulation. Kinda like the matrix we have been trapped in. Then they could bring back all d1 lore and reverse all the bad changes with a simple explanation.
