I have a small problem and a question:
I really want to have a warlock as a main char, but whenever I pick a handcannon... something inside me saying, that I must make a hunter as a main and build around handcannons only. Style, sound, damage... damn, I love big guns!
There is such a build for hunters - 2 handcannons in main and energy, whatever in power and Lucky Pants on your ass. Optionaly - Celectial Nighthawk (not on your ass... but it depends). Obviously Gunslinger as your subclass.
So, I want to ask you, is it worth to drop my Voidwalker/Stormcaller warlock and become a 100% cowboyish Hunter with such build? How good will it be in PvE, in PvP?
Maybe you have some experience trying that, would be happy to read about it!

Gunslinger Run Mobility and Resilience mods. My chest is a kinetic reload mod. I'm at 7 mobility and 10 resilience using the Dead Orbit faction armor and Foetracer. I recommend the reload dodge, triple jump, your choice of grenade(tripmine is my preference) and bottom tree. Replace Foetracer with Lucky Pants and run: Crimil's Dagger Minuet/Auto Rifle of your choice/ pick something Perfect Paradox, Quickfang, Shock and Awe or Cartesian Coordinate

1 ReplyFor pve, double hand cannon works well. The better devils is the best dps gun in pve. Couple that with sunshot for its explosive kills... The issues you run into, not a lot though, is the occasional need of a scout rifle... but like I said, not a lot of times. Pvp is hot or miss. All depends who you are playing and who you are playing with, but if you enjoy the hand cannons more than you worry about stats, you’ll be fine. I messed around with the exotic pants... and ehhh. Nothing beneficial to a team, and no huge scenario that truly benefits having the pants on. Pve I run nightstalker for the team. Supers all day and with a hand cannon, kills for days. Pvp, subclass choice is open. With hand cannons, I would say arc strider or gunslinger because you will be playing aggressively. For my better devils I rolled handling. I prefer it for the faster movement and less flinch. Hope you find your build you like.

The lucky pants double handy thing isnt all that amazing in PVE. At least you never have to road if you land your shots. Where it’s real fun is PVP. Have some mother-blam!-er shoot you with a homemade Last Word with some wild flinch to boot (high damage low rof HCs) and you’ll have players panicking and messing things up. If you can somehow land precisions with that constantly (you kinda have to hip fire), it’s gg.

As there's nothing else to do in the game at the moment, give it a try and see for yourself. Like others said, you CAN have multiple characters, ya know? Nothing to stop you from playing with one for a while, then switching to another if you get bored. See you, Space Cowboy....

4 RepliesYou're allowed to have more than one character, you know. The point of "maining" after all is having options.

1 ReplyD2 exotics are crap. Lucky Pants grants you triple tap on hand cannons, and it uses up your exotic slot?! WOW.... INCREDIBLE👏. So practical. ALL BECAUSE I WANNA BE LIKE WOODY

Give a go.

6 RepliesI've found the Lucky pants to be fun, but not the most viable. They were changed slightly not too long ago which made them better (IMO) but still not necessarily the best. If memory serves they get a round in the chamber for each precision hit. I cannot remember the trigger timer, but realistically you'll find yourself still needing to reload. If you do: use HCs like the new Iron Banner one and [I can't remember which] Minuet or Annual Skate with Opening Shot (increased accuracy and range on the first shot) for some swap and pop action, never using all the shots and using your pants to reload. Your other would optimally have a fast reload, or juggle the two until you can dodge to reload. Running dual HCs puts you at a range disadvantage in both PvE and PvP, which as long as you play to your weapons' strength, you'll be fine. Now that I'm typing this you're making me want to try it out again...

I used to think that way too. Then my warlock stole my hunter's FWC hand cannon and masterperked it with handling and orb generation. If only we could still get Icarus it'd be perfect.

Only time i felt like a cowboy was when i used The Last Word.
