I heard Luke Smith on a long podcast saying that he didnt think he had a 'real job.'
Dude, you have a very real job. Your job is to give people an outlet from work...from life...from themselves sometimes. Your job is to create something that trabsports us into an alternate reality for a few hours so we can have fun whem we cant affoed vacations, or dont have to time, etc. For many people, Destiny 1 was exactly that.
You guys need to step back from the business stuff and see things from our perspective. You made the Taken King which was widely acclaimed by people who love Destiny. D2 doesnt resemble that in any way.
You mentioned that everyone agreed to make a whole new game with every sequal... In my opinion, that would have been fine except that D2 is exactly like D1 in format, but stripped of many core features... So new players to the series will leave and youll only have what we have now with core players complaining and leaving because you changed a great game.
I was thinking earlier about all the stuff that we, the players, have acquired in D1 and we had to give up with D2. But what about the Devs?? All the work and progress they made on D1 only to have it stripped away with D2.. that has to feel like a waste on some level.
Anyway... This year in my gaming life will forever go down in history. It is now difficult to get involved in something like this knowing that there is a possibility of losing it all when the company does something ridiculous. All that time, money and all the relationships. Sure we keep in touch. But we sure as hell dont play D2 together.
Plz Bungie.

16 RepliesMissed the point much? A championship golfer, Curtis Strange, once said in an instructional video to his audience of recreational golfers, "You work for a living. I don't." What he---and Luke Smith---was saying is that they both love what they do so much that it doesn't FEEL like "work". If you had bothered to take in other Luke Smith interviews, then you would realize that the man eats, sleeps, lives and breathes this game. When he isn't working on it at Bungie....he's taking home test builds of the game to play and analyze.

3 RepliesHe said that in such a way that he means he enjoys it so much he doesn't see it as a job. It's easy to take out of context but most people with that type of job feel that way.
