One shot kills in PVP. How is this done?
Ok so last night I was playing a pretty slick team [REDACTED] who apparently had the ability to one shot kill me from full health without using a power weapon. The weapon for the kill showed a hand canon icon but what type I don't know.
You could run up behind one of them engage him with the GIFT and after he finished off whoever he was preoccupied with he would casually turn and pop 1 shot me from full health.
The other members in my team confirmed the same thing.

They were seriously good and shut us down in 4:41.
I don't wish them on anyone.
Destiny tracker refuses to show all the weapons they were using in that match???
Anyone know what weapon (I think a hand canon) and how they manage the one shot?

2 RepliesWhen someone kills you, it says who, their power level, etc. and the weapon that killed you. You can also see what weapon they are using. One shot kills are usually fusion rifles, shotguns, rockets, etc. It's also possible that you only think it's a one shot kill, but in reality your shield was not at full health and your resilience was not high, and you got team shot at the same exact time by 2 guys or 3 guys etc. You can stand next to a full health full shield 5 resilience player, point blank head shot them with the most powerful hand cannon, it will not one shot them.

I have a theory for a one shot hand Canon but it will require private matches to test it.

This happened a LOT to me early in D2 when I was joining a fireteam in my clan and the fireteam leader and his buddy were in the upper east coast, while I am in Texas. I couldn't get a kill no matter how many bullets I put on target, yet I'd be instakilled with no idea where it came from. I kept playing with those guys, because we were winning(they were doing well), but my personal stats were awful. Worse than when I first started playing pvp in D1. Then I started going in solo or with another buddy, and magically my stats were on par with my normal D1 performance. I'm not technologically proficient, so I can't tell you why this was happening, but I will not play with those guys again. My feeling is the distance is too great and introduced too much lag on my end.

16 RepliesIt's caused by lag / packet loss. In simple terms... If their internet is really bad it causes information to be delayed and sent/ received in packets as apposed to a constant stream of data....hence getting 'one' shot but in reality they actually sent 4 bullets your way, you just got them all at once.

He runs with that [REDACTED] guy (didnt check his Trials history) [REDACTED] is probably what you where killed by, he has two characters equiped with it. Just report them is all you can do.

The player base is so small now on the pc , the chances of you running into a xim exploiter or out right aimbotter is very high.

1 ReplyIts a new high powered hand cannon called Flamingo. You can get from doing lost sectors. It has a lucky bullet stat the stacks. Pretty beast in my opinion. Ive been using it for the last 2 weeks.

In fact I refer to these players as skilled. You really have a nerve buddy. I work in law enforcement and if I treated someone like that I know what I would expect to happen to me!!! And its just happened to you!!!

Not sure but I think Destiny Tracker doesn't show all the match weapons for a person if they didn't actually get a kill with that weapon!

The only thing I could think of was coordinated shots from all the other players but then on one occasion I know I was with only one of them so it can't be that.
