Lord Shaxx's red jacks

So people voted and now this post will not be about the fallen. Instead it will be about the red jacks. Information that I have gathered from https://www.destinypedia.com/Redjacks Will be posted first.
Redjacks are militarized frames used by Lord Shaxx to secure potential Crucible sites and Sparrow Racing League courses from hostile forces, guarding them during matches as well. As the frames lack sentience and the powers of the Light, they are deployed in large numbers to overwhelm any enemies and are assisted by Guardians. Even so, casualties are massive: few frames ever return from their first battle, and fewer still manage to survive multiple engagements. Those that do return are linked together to share their combat data to improve their performance. This data is also saved for posterity and downloaded into new units. When a site has been cleared, Guardians make a final sweep and declare it ready for use.
Now my thoughts and ideas
Those that do return are linked together to share their combat data to improve their performance.
In the first mission we see red jacks getting destroyed by red legion. This shows how many frames actually return from battle. Noticing how easily cabal disposed of them this means that ether the combat data isn't all that effective or it's so rare for frames to return that there was very little combat data to work with.
secure potential Crucible sites and Sparrow Racing League courses from hostile forces, guarding them during matches as well.
Once again this shows how unreliable these frames actually are. For instance, when your in sparrow racing there are enemies everywhere. Meaning that the frames are already dead or they suck at defending. One last thing How cool would be to be fighting along side these bots. During public events or missions. In halo one of my favorite things was the Marines. They would help you in battle, you could give them powerful guns so they could deal some damage, and they provided comedic relief. Imagine if you could do this in destiny.

  • Honestly a mission like that sounds like a lot of fun.

  • So those are frames? Other time I heard that was when Shaxx spoke of horrible weapons when him and the iron lords went for Siva: “Horrible frames and weapons I e never seen before” Also, a leak on Reddit said that the new enemy race would be the frames. Is it possible those frames are hacked or they look like that in the new expansion?

    • According to the Redjacks themselves and the Guardians they work with, it’s actually possible for Frames to explode if they encounter something that’s too much for them to process, further adding to their losses Most Frames don’t live long, it’s true, which explains why so many were dominated by the professional Cabal military, but they do learn exponentially from every battle. Arcite and Dhalia, two very old Redjacks (Arcite was pulled off-duty to assist Shaxx with the Crucible), are actually as skilled or maybe even more skilled than most Guardians. They survived every battle, even when no others did, and even fought at Twilight Gap Also, l thought that the SRL courses were only loosely guarded to prevent the course from being destroyed. The grimoires say Shaxx and Amanda wanted enemies and hazards on the road to make things interesting

    • That would actually be pretty awesome. A new public event or something where you have an area or something to defend (like resources for the city or something) and when you start it you see several drop pods or something come into the area granting you back up of several red jacks. Maybe reinforcements could come via drop ship as well?
basically - something something something public event, something something something redjack backup
• I thought we should have to fight alongside them to secure the crucible maps before playing them for the first time. Maybe like every week before trials you gotta secure it

      • How cool would it be deploying these bots? They could do entire mech subclasses dedicated to territory control and use of bots to fight for you.. Would be a nice change from the one man army theme across all classes. Improbable and probably way out of balance.. But would be a fun way to introduce them into our PVE combat.

      • The redjacks allow enemies to get on srl tracks to make them harder and more entertaining but loosely guard them to make sure the track itself isn't destroyed

I’m down with the idea of adding Redjacks into the game. Put the Redjacks in some strikes, the raid or other PvE activities. Put some in the story. Can they be hacked by Vex? Rescue some, have some rescue you, get their help slaying a boss. Help them open up some PvP maps before you can play on them. A horde mode with a Guardian fireteam and a bunch of Redjacks vs. bad guys. Have a range where you can test armour or weapons against Redjacks. Have a mini game you can play against Redjacks. Help sweeper bot realize his dream of becoming a Redjack. Hell, put a few in PvP. Guardians vs. Redjacks or add a Redjack or two to each team. Some rich possibilities there.

      • I believe they are weaker because of no light, but yes you are correct, they do not frequently survive, therefore they don’t always have data to go off of. It’s rare for a frame to survive one encounter, even more so for them to survive more than one. I would also wager with the limited Mars crucible maps, the bots haven’t had as much experience with the cabal, causing them to be very ineffective when fighting at the beginning of D2.

I would say it’s mostly that they just suck at combat. The frames are likely make with the basic abilities to move around and shoot a gun. That’s it. As for why, I’m guessing that they figured it was more cost effective to build a bajillion of the things and give them guns than to make them combat focused with things like armor plating and heavier weapons. Or in other words, sacrifice quantity for quality instead of trying to find a middle ground (which is typically optimal by my understanding). An economics class I took roughly explained production in a nutshell, you can either produce a lot of one thing, or a lot of something else that is completely different, but not a lot of both at the same time when they both use the same resources. So I guess for this, if we take the current method and describe it as quantity of frames, as opposed to quality, where I guess it would just max out at having a giant war robot, we seem to be going for max quantity.
now I want the destiny series to have a giant mech frame. With a broom. Best friendly character ever.
• Not sure where I read it but I could've sworn there were Guardians in the Redjacks too, could be a good base for a mini expansion or something

What about the redjacks your fight alongside in the first mission that literally just do nothing?

      • Well Lord Shaxx needs to deploy more frames, or arm them better because they ain't doing their job properly. Countless times while sparrow racing I've ran into fallen on the track shooting at me, get it sorted Shaxx.

        • Oh Marines. As useless as they seemed they had near god levels of aim with the spartan laser and rocket launcher. They also had infinite ammo. Throw one on the back of your mongoose and drive a around. Enjoy the exploding pieces of enemies and equipment, ah, takes me back.

          • It would be cool if when they introduce private matches, we had the ability to play with and against these "bots", call of duty style. Great way to try out a new loadout or just have fun without affecting your crucible stats. And it would fit perfectly with the lore, making it more fitting for this game than it is in cod.

          • I actually had an idea for a Crucible DLC (that would effectively separate PVP and PVE balance) that would center around the red jacks going haywire (maybe cause of Rasputin) and we have to fight AI bots in the crucible. There has actually been some hint to this in game because it looks like some of the boys have been tampered with.
