WARNING: SPOILERS
If you have not seen Rogue One, or played Halo Reach, then do not read this.
I thought of something. Halo Reach and Rogue One are similar story wise.
In both stories, it talks of a squad, who all dies delivering something valuable before it gets destroyed.
In Halo Reach, Noble Team has to deliver Halsey's package to the Pillar of Autumn before it is destroyed, and her package is incredibly vital to defeating the enemy. Most of Noble Team dies in the process. (Supposedly...)
While in Rogue One, it tells of a squadron, Rogue One, who has to deliver the Death Star plans to the Rebels before they are destroyed. This intel is also vital to defeating the enemy. Rogue One also dies in the process.
Those are just my thoughts though...

Rogue One would've been better without reticle bloom

1 ReplyHalo 3 is similar to """"Solo"""" movie.
-
Well they were both being made at pretty much the same times.
-
2 Repliesyou should also think of the similarities between basketball and football. -2 teams -1 ball -ball has to cross a certain line in order to score -there are referees -people watch it hl3 confirmed?

Cool story.
-
I feel like that is a very general thing that you could compare to other things easily

1 ReplyWhat does this have to do with Destiny. This belongs in the Others Games or Offtopic forums.

Don’t let anyone tell you this doesn’t belong in these forums. It’s a great comparison

In my part of the country we call this 'tomahawk storytelling,' the gist being 'everyone dies in the end.' Sometimes also called the "dwindling army" trope if the characters are picked off one by one as the story progresses. Rogue One and Halo: Reach are far from the only tomahawk stories. The Departed, Scarface, basically every Tarantino movie ever made... They're just less common because it ruins the fantasy of the Hero winning and riding off into the sunset, or getting the princess and settling down, etc.

Neat.
