Seriously. I bet I've played over 100 games of iron banner and I am at 52% on the grenade and melee kills. Do they think that both are still 1 hit kills? I highly doubt they even thought it through.
Edit: I think some are misunderstanding the point. It's not about the grind, it's about what you are grinding for (an ornament for an armor piece) and the fact that the rest of the ornament challenges are more in line with each other. It seems to me that bungie doesn't even understand the mechanics of their own game and still think melee and grenades are one hit kills.
It seems bungie has brainwashed some of you into believing that it's worth grinding 50 hours for an ornament for a single piece of armor. Remember what grinds used to be for? Exotic swords, sniper rifles, rocket launchers. Now some are happy just grinding for a single ornament for a piece of armor that has no effect on it's stats. It shouldn't be like this.

I don’t they play the game. They just have a small group of people that play test new patches
-
I suppose maybe they wanted it to be a grind through season 2. I didn't get all the ornaments this time. I guess it gives me a reason to play again.
-
Used to take 3-4 IB's to get a full set of armor. Now ppl are bitching that they can't acquire everything in a couple days. SMH
-
Once you focused on just completing that challenge it wasn’t that bad. Javelin became my favorite map. Think I moved up 6% on one game alone on that map. I was able to finish it with two days left. And I only played at night. I’ll admit it was quite the grind tho. Makes me proud to have it tho (in a sad little way). I actually like challenges like that. Makes you feel “accomplished”
-
Yeah, I was disappointed that banner ended and I wasn't able to get the entire ornament set because of the grenade/melee kills thing.
-
It kind of should be though. The main complaint with the endgame is that it's too easy and quick to get everything, so with your progress carrying over for the whole season (2 iron banners? Idk) it should take you the whole season to get them. i think the pendulum swung too far the other way on this one, but hey, at least its something to grind for
-
It is a slough, to be sure, but I only could play for two days and got halfway there. I’ll finish it next time. What, pray tell, is the big damn deal?
-
2 RepliesThe grenades are only cosmetic
-
No they don’t lol This game is failing Everyone I know hates it Rip bungie
-
1 ReplyNo bungie doesn't play there own game and soon they wont be able to post on there own forum's due to there new forum requirements
-
I gave up on team shooting... and enabled my armor for double grenades, and just ran a full speed from heavy to heavy, just by doing this, I got about 3 to 4 kills per game, and thus finished my last 50 in about half or 3rd of the time, it took to get the first 50. It still took over 60 to 70 games to get it done in total.

1 ReplyI got it second day. Get good.
-
I don't know what you are complaining about. I'm a par to sub-par pvp player. Played IB every day on each character just long enough to earn the daily token milestone. Had all my ornaments unlocked before the end of my Thursday session. Perhaps be more aggressive? Play a subclass with better grenades/melee? Most of my kills for that ornament came from playing Striker bottom tree with Synthoceps. Use a grenade to prime, dive in for the kill with a melee. Instant health regen, on to the next one.

As for the edit. Destiny 2 has entered the realm of glamour. Glamour in many MMOs is the true end game. I'm not joking. I'm actually serious. Glamour is end game stuff now. Just seems Destiny embraced it a bit too much
-
76 games and done all ornaments. It's not hard just gotta be aggressive and play smart. You'll lose kd if that matters to you I don't know but like many it only took a few days to do
-
A guy in my clan knocked out all ornaments in 2 days. I'm at 78%. It's crazy. Don't know how he did it so fast. Also ran the raid for our clan engram on reset day, so he wasn't just sitting in IB all day.
-
1 ReplyI played 116 IB games, across three characters, and ended with all the armor for all three character classes and unlocked all the ornaments. This is the first IB I've played in D2 and the chest piece ornament was the only really grindy thing I did this past week. I'm a very average PVPer and it was not that difficult.

2 Repliesso what you're saying is you could only manage one melee/grenade kill per match after playing over 100 matches. Hmm ...... we're you still trying to win the match? I just ran around melee'in everyone and didn't care about winning. Surprisingly still manage to win most of them. It was three melee's to kill but some quick wounding with a SMG, then whack-a-mole and their done. I was happy they finally made something of a grind to get. More special for those who completed it.

It's because d2 is really just space Barbie dress up
-
I did it in about ten hours, quit complaining baby.
-
it's clear that they don't play their game
-
to be honest im more upset over getting the same exotics over and over again with engrams i collect then the ornaments . while in a RNG system i kinda expect some dupes , but its kinda ridiculous , a roll should be a ROLL not a fix percentage to get the same one or two items in a loot table and a smaller percentage for the rest
-
1 ReplyIt’s very easy to get with titan and synthoceps. It took a few hours and I had to alter my play style and go after mele kills. Sub machine guns. Sidearms.
-
Yeah some might jump on your 1st paragraph wording. If your overall point is that there is jack rewards worth the time then I agree. The issue is that the armour and gear are insanely easy to obtain and just bland compared to the old game where items were genuinely unique, light level mattered and endgame was the only place for true progression (harder content = better stuff). Iron Banner had a rightful place ad endgame but now neutered and meaningless really.

1) Some people complained about the grind in D1. -bad RNG -planetary materials -etc That you needed to grind endlessly for to be up to snuff for most modes. 2) Some people complained about too little of a grind in D2. 3) They make cosmetics grind events to let people grind and keep playing while other don’t feel obligated to grind endlessly just to enjoy the game. 4) Now you’re complaining about a totally fair compromise

1 ReplyIt is obvious that no one at Bungie gives a shit about players fun. They turn every activity to painfully less and less rewarding shit-work. And I am sure that they do not know their game.
