I think people are taking it out of context and trying to get pissed off over relatively nothing.
First off, I am no Luke Smith supporter. The "throw money at screen" thing was highly unprofessional and disgusting, along with his other actions.
What I don't like though, is people blaming him for everything and straight-up cussing him out. There are more people to blame than him, and it seems like people latch on to only him, ya know? It's not just him.
As to his tweet... It largely depends on interpretation. My first take is that he was simply saying "don't be jerks". "Be civil". No biggie. Buuuut, an ornery community might view it as "don't be jerks, because you're all acting like jerks on the forums and Reddit"... Which is a semi-fair interpretation but I think people are thinking too emotionally right now and possibly blowing it out of proportions. I can easily see both sides, and maybe you upset individuals should see if you can too (like, seriously. No sarcasm. See it from another perspective and see if that helps).
