He did not call his customer base jerks, just the parts of his customer base that act like jerks.
Did he??? Where exactly did he say that in the tweet???
English

where he said "don't be jerks" One who is not inclined to act like a jerk would not take offence to this.
-
Agreed. This is like watching a four-year-old girl throwing a hissy fit, then crying hysterically when someone gets tired of it and tells her to stop.

1. If you'd been paying attention, you'd know that I've been complaining about D2-related changes since before there even WAS a Destiny 2. 2. I don't know why you want to fantasize about a balding middle aged man receiving prison sex, but if that's your thing, go for it. I don't judge.

Hahaha 😜
where he said "don't be jerks" One who is not inclined to act like a jerk would not take offence to this.
I have not acted like a jerk, before this tweet I thanked them for releasing the road map, and I take offence to this. A man in his position has hundreds of people relying on him to make the right decisions so bungie can continue to exist and pay its employees. Making a sweeping generalisation about an already hostile customer base is irresponsible and childish. Not everyone will see this tweet how you see it, he should know not to say things like that publicly, the same as we know not to personally attack individuals on these forums.

he should know not to say things like that publicly, the same as we know not to personally attack individuals on these forums.
Given this board's history of personal attacks, despite apparently knowing better, I'm pretty sure we can let this one vaguely questionable tweet slide. : p

While I can appreciate your viewpoint, I have seen these forums & twitter actively be, for a lack of a better polite word, jerkish. I understand that he could have chosen a more polite way of saying it, however, I also understand that he is a passionate person who has seen posts that were less than kind directed not only at him but his peers.

The only thing luke smith is passionate about is your wallet.
-
And sandwiches because he is human pile of garbage.
-
Do people understand that Luke Smith is an employee and most likely makes the same amount of money regardless of the state of the game? If you spend 0 or 1000 in eververse I am pretty sure Smith still gets paid the same. So his "greed" really wouldnt be relevant to his game design skills, if the game was over monetized that decision came from much higher than his level.
-
No people in his position receive bonuses, usually based on the success of the game.

I’ll say it again a man in his position should know better. There is no excuse for what he said.

If you talked to any business that you do business with the way some of the ... more "passionate" people on the forums communicate to Bungie, you would be hung up on to say the least. I have worked in customer service for over 20+ years ranging from small businesses upto fortune 100 companies and at minimum companies expect their customers to speak to them in a polite manner. If someone hurls nothing but insults and requests for employees to be fired, the conversation ends. While none of my employers would tolerate me calling a customer a jerk, I have had the pleasure of having my bosses call customers much worse during calls when needed. Bottom line is, he said what he said, you can either appreciate what he and his team is dealing with and understand why he said it, or not.

The result is simple, it’s now very unlikely I will spend my money on bungie products again, hopefully he can appreciate that.

Totally understand your point of view. While I hope your stance about playing future releases changes, I can respect your decision based on his ill chosen wording.
