Let's talk about Cycles of the Motor variety.

Any riders out there (other than Neno)? Projects or mods you're working on? Anyone else looking to start riding or just like bikes in general? I've been interested in motorcycles since I was little, but that interest has never gone anywhere. Mentioned to my mum a few times throughout my young adult years that I'd rather get a bike instead of a car and was met with the response that one would expect from an overly concerned mother, but I'm not a child anymore and while I appreciate that she cares about my well being, it's time to start spreading my wings and do what I've been wanting to for years now. One bike in particular has given me motivation to do so. The Honda Grom. Never have I looked at a bike with such vibrant curiosity. It just has something about it that says "fun" (and from what I've read and watched, people that have actually ridden it agree). The opinions on whether it's a good bike for beginners are quite polarizing to say the least, with each side making some good and valid points, all of which I've considered, but I'm dead set on this bike.
I have some big plans for it when I do get it (first I have take care of all the mandatory things, like passing the safety course and getting my license). I want to do something fairly similar to this one with 14 inch wheels, just not dropped as low and I wouldn't have the swing arm extended to the lengths that everyone and their mother seems to do when customizing these things (looks dumb and isn't necessary). As for other aesthetic stuff, I had and idea in mind for a color / decal theme based on Char's Zaku II (kind of like this). Other than that, any other aesthetic changes would be miscellaneous stuff and everything else would be for performance, i.e. a bbk. When it's all said in done, I'd probably be better off and with more money left in my pocket buying a "real" bike, but I don't really care. I want something to work towards and make my own and feel the Grom is the best platform for that short of building a bike from scratch.
