Destiny 2: The Cult of Dredgen Yor DLC
In the first game, we get references to a group calling themselves The Shadows of Yor, who follow in the footsteps of the infamous Guardian Dredgen Yor, they even wield replicas of Thorn the Handcannon.
The DLC begins with Gunslinger Shin Malphor being stalked by some Fallen and he kills them old western style, then he's ambushed by a member of the Shadows of Yor, ends in a stalemate. He calls Cayde for assistance.
Our Guardian goes on a reconnaissance mission into the city to spy on them. This gives us the opportunity to overhear stuff from normal people and get some backstory. When we reach our destination, we overhear the heads of this cult plan to resurrect Dredgen Yor through a combination of Light, Hive magic and cybernetics. We end up fighting some of the members that wield Dark abilities similar to Guardians.
Titans wielding shields of Darkness and replicas of necrocasm
Warlocks throwing green fire balls similar to Hive Wizards and replicas of Red Death
Hunters with dark versions of Golden gun and replicas of Thorn
(each time you kill one of them you get a 27% chance of getting a Legendary Dark Guardian Armor of that type with associated lore)
We spend the next few missions doing the following
Hail of Bullets: Find Shin Malphor and assist him in holding off both the Fallen and Shadows of Yor Reminisce: Go to where the fabled duel between Shin Malphor and Dredgen Yor took place to find out what occured (we get scannable objects, projections and quotes on what happened)
Dark Rose: Find the rose of Dredgen Yor thats currently in possesion of the Hive on Titan
(insert other mission ideas here)
High Noon: Fight the resurrected Dredgen Yor (win Thorn)
World Quest: Assist Asher Mir on rebuilding the Grimoire (examples being kill 250 of a specific enemy and unlock a bit of lore about that kind of enemy. Kill named enemies for more info about that specific individual. Revisit it in Speakers Study)
Raid: Fight and kill the Ascendant Hive Wizard responsible for Dredgen Yors fate. (Oryx size Wizard)

1 ReplyI have to remind you that the Shadows of Yor may have some weird cult of personality surrounding Dredgen Yor, but their true intentions remain to be seen. It’s possible they’re evil, personally I think they’re more neutral. But they’re still Guardians, and there’s no way they’re going to get access to the Darkness, much less want to gain powers from it.

I've been thinking of a Shadows of Yor type DLC in my head for the last week, my idea would've been an investigation into the Veist weapons after a malfunctioning prototype partially consumes the light of a guardian. Leading to eventually discovering that "Veist" is actually first initials of the 5 leaders of the Shadows of Yor (The V standing for Dredgen Vale) Like your suggestion they would also be looking to resurrect Dredgen Yor, with the ability to earn or craft your own Shadow of Yor outfit (containing a set bonus that would cause huge upgrades to a subclass, which would be disabled in pvp to avoid balance issues)

Love this idea. Here's what I would add: - before the recon mission in the city, you're given a full set of common armor which is essentially a disguise to look like a refugee. it brings your light level way down to force you to stay hidden while tailing people & finding out what they're up to. - There should be something like the forge/prophecy tablets on Mercury, but this one creates weapons with darkness type perks (poison, sapping your life for bonus damage, etc.) - [quote]World Quest: Assist Asher Mir on rebuilding the Grimoire[/quote] Adding to what you said, I think the devs should put all the current scannables on our map (as well as add new ones) and once they're scanned, we can access an in menu codex.
