When I heard the rumors that D3 was in development I was piss how they'd dedicate resources to something that shouldn't even be on the horizon and not on the present issues.

Because there is a contract with Activision that bungie has to uphold the terms of. They bit off way, waaaaay more than they could chew to get dat green, now we’re all paying for it. The consumer with hard earned money spent in advance on false promises, bungie in hate from the community and plummeting credibility as a developer. Activision are doing just fine tho.
