Bungie, There is a saying that goes "You cant please everyone all the time" you tried PVP balancing and whilst it is balanced {'cause every one is using the same thing} How about for a special event give us a more powerful crucible, look at the feed back... Mayhem a lot of people enjoyed it because we were powerful guardians, look at the feedback from Prometheus Lens pre Nerf, that to was fun because again the TTK was dropped and we felt powerful (see the common theme here) So how about it, just for a one off to gauge player feedback give us light level advantage, reduced TTK across the board. Try it, you would be surprised.
