Its obvious where Bungie came up with their skull paint design on Emiles EVA Helmet. Im not bagging on Bungie or anything, im just saying...
Posted by: J A c K 3 ID
Posted by: Greel97 Actually Reach was in development at the same time as MW2. It's just a major conincidence that they both had the same sort of idea.
yeah right
no really, Bungie started production for Halo Reach soon after Halo 3 sometime in 2007, so it's been in production longer. P.S. Fix'd
Posted by: Son of Valhalla
Posted by: Dave7h I guess that's why Black Ops has Theater mode.
Yep. Treyarch copied Bungie, because it was a good feature that was popular. That's what I'm trying to say. Who knows? Maybe Black Ops will feature a gentle giant that dies via noble sacrifice? It's possible.
Posted by: Astro Elvis shouldnt you be posting on CoD forums?
I'm expressing my opinions on this one. And I'm not going to brown nose Bungie on this. Of course, no one notices I'm not actually advocating CoD in any way... That would require reading comprehension. But IW beat Bungie to the punch on this one. I sincerely doubt that in the first 2 years of development time Bungie had a stalwart badass with a full face skull planned. I bet you they changed up the character after seeing the hype Ghost got.
Or maybe even aliens that somehow invade Vietnam.

Emile's is hardcore - he carved it into his faceplate.
-
LOL why does everyone assume Bungie and IW make rip off of each other's characters. You do realize the skull design goes back thousands of years. Warriors and soliders have facepainted skulls and carved skulls into their masks/helmets for thousands of years. If Emile's helmet is a knock off of Ghost's balanclava, then that balanclava was a knock off of my halloween costume from 5 years ago. [Edited on 09.29.2010 9:39 AM PDT]
Posted by: Oreo xNoodlex And you really think a carving of a skull was so much of a big deal? Because my god i know i only bought MW2 because there was a guy with a skull on his mask. You're a moron, the other guy is a moron, and anyone else who supports your 'theory' is a moron. How about we all get over the fact that a million games have skulls in them, and go play Halo. Or go play MW2. Or go play -blam!- Rock Band 2 for all I care, which BY THE -blam!- WAY has a skull in it.
Hey, tool? You weren't part of the discussion. And if you learned to read then you'd know I said Bungie copied the motif of Ghost because MW2 sold so well. Nowhere did I say Ghost was original or that you bought a game for it. But that would have required reading instead of your reflexive stupidity.

Some people just deserve to be Halo: Reach assassinated in real life. :D
Posted by: J A c K 3 ID
Posted by: Rune174 Then why bring it up?
because im cool and im just pointing out that Bungie stole an idea from MW2
Well the game has been in development for 3 years compared to MW2's 1. They may have come up with the idea first.

Because no one ever wore a skull on a piece of clothing/armor before Modern Warfare *facepalm*

And Emile has a carved skull on his helmet. I guarantee NO ONE bought either game for that one feature.

Wow, a skull. Nobody has ever thought putting a skull on something/someone would look cool ever before Infinity Ward did. Good spot Jack, you are on the mutha -blam!- ball!

all COD fanboys go on your MW2 forums, this is BUNGIE not IW you fool.

Ghost's name is a ripoff of a flying purple splatter machine that shoots an array of blue plasma bullets case closed... =P

Lol Hardcore COD fanboys who think everything was taken from COD make me lol The DMR has an ACOG scope on it, Oh No! Bungie must of stolen it from MW2!! I wonder if they use the same bullets? hmm.. [Edited on 09.29.2010 9:30 AM PDT]

Who so necro? Besides, Ghost has a lame skimask with a skeleton jaw on. Emile has a badass carved skull into his silver Visor on his helmet. Makes a difference.

If I do recall, Skulls were in when Halo 2 was out.

Actually, a portion of Bungie has been working on this project since 2007. Modern Warfare 2 could have been worked on since 2008, earliest, more likely it took a week.

OMG REACH HAS SHOOTING IN IT! THEY MUST BE COPYING GHOST RECON!!!!! lol. Just because there's something similar doesn't mean that they "copied."

Emile vs Ghost. Ghost dies 1,000 times over. End of story. Go play Call Of Duty you -blam!-.
