Option to change character appearance any time during play through
Currently in Destiny 2, an individual starts a new game by choosing a class and customizing their appearance. However, if the player finds that they no longer like their appearance, or if their appearance bothers them, there is no option that allows them to change it after they have started a new game. There is a community thread on Bungie.net where many players have stated their annoyance with this feature. I propose that Bungie, in a future update, allow the player to customize their appearance in the character selection screen. I believe that this would be a simple addition to the game that would go a long way. Although it is obvious that Bungie has put more effort into the story in Destiny 2 than in Destiny 1, players do not want to play through it an additional time just because their appearance bothers them. Leave comments below if you agree and let's try to get Bungie to see this.

1 ReplyI've deleted max level characters multiple times just to change appearance because i just didnt like playing as what i was anymore. Its extremely annoying. Especially since you gotta do a bunch of bullshit to be able to save your gear and put it in the vault before deleting.

6 RepliesSomething I’ve always been curious about, both for your request and for those folks in the past that asked for things like beards.....when you planning on looking at yourself? How long do you hang out at the tower clogging up lobbies for people who need to be in there? Because last time I checked your helmet doesn’t come off unless you’re at the tower or farm. I’m sure thing slike this are important in games where that stuff is used and seen a lot...this ain’t that type of game...hasn’t been for 3 years. I’d rather them use their time for things that actually benefit the game, not the select few of the ❄️ like people. Do you also consider the stuff behind Eververse “important” to the game and consider it “end game” loot like some of the ❄️ on this forum do? Just curious. Not trying to starting anything. I’ve been here from the start and I’ve always wondered why people are so hung up on cosmetics in this game. It’s not a Skyrim type game where you can actually see all the cosmetic stuff, hell I don’t even see my body unless a sword is in my hands, I’m in the tower/farm or I’m on a speeder.

I have always wanted this too. It could be explained as a Ghost resurrection ability. Maybe Tess sells a consumable that allows your Ghost to do this for you. There, does that help, Bungie?

1 ReplyIt's really easy to change your appearance in the game already, I don't think bungie needs to spend dev time on this. All you have to do is as follows: 1) toss all of your gear from the character you don't like into the vault 2) Delete that character 3) make a new character with the appearance you like. 4) grind him up to max level in the EDZ 5) reapply all your gear from the vault The hardest part is grinding to max level, but in Destiny 2 it only takes around 3 hours or less if you grind heroic public events in the EDZ. Much less time if you have a good fireteam to help. There's no stats that I know of that are tied to specific characters (besides physical appearance, of which you only ever see their head, so...) so essentially if you have the same gear you have the same character. To the people who gripe at the "3 hour EDZ grind" to get back to max level: it's either grind for three hours OR Bungie wastes dev time on this and you'll probably have to pay bright dust/ silver to change your characters appearance. 3 hours and free or pay bright dust.

2 RepliesIt takes roughly 8 hours of gameplay, less if you have a helper, to change your appearance in game. If it bugs you too much, there's that option.

Totally agree, been wanting this since forever. I don't know why they can't correct this annoyance factor for players. I chose a facial tattoo that I now regret and, just as in real life, I seem to be stuck with it. I would like to remake my characters to look like Ikora, Cayde and Zavala if possible, I think that would be cool to try out but I don't want to delete them all together to try it...

2 RepliesThis is not your typical Chinese/Korean MMORPG. Appearance really? The customization on this game is horrid. Do you really look into appearance though when you play this game? The equipment you achieve to get does that for you.

My main is still my D1 day 1 titan. Other than running story content I never even see my titans face. D2 has way too many problems with it right now and the live team has enough work on their pallet if they want to keep their core players hanging around for another year and a half till D3 comes out. They've already lost me as a guaranteed pre-order customer and I'm sure I'm not the only one. If they want to add it to D3 great but this is the last thing they need to be working on in D2.

Changing character appearance is pointless because its so limited its about the only feature they kept from d1 which should have been upgraded
