From what I remember from Destiny, wipes were minimal and a lack off timer is better for this one big reason! I’m sick off running through strikes rather than enjoy them! Getting to the end off the original strikes had far better feeling than constantly losing out to a few seconds because off all the noobs running and dying thus killing the timer anyway! Speed running takes skill in avoiding and streamlining! Not wiping is more team based, skill and strategy and “not” running past everything to be shot in the back! I found a little thing with the strikes though and what the timer is good for and only good for; if you can finish normal mode with 8 mins on the clock, then prestige is easily achieved! My best runs have also been board wipes (killing everything) it’s surprising on how effective team shooting is in PvE, but the noobs, yeah, the noobs!
