• They’re pretty shit.....in the very least let us mix and match the “trees.” And all the people who say “yea, but you used the same build blah blah blah” I will say I actually didn’t.....I was always tinkering with builds and trying to optimize them certain gear.....the only reason there was even a default build was because most of the skills were lackluster at best.

  • Bump. Even allowing the ability to choose from what's available now is better than the current skill trees!

    • This would be cool but too much for bungie. Just take a look at the topics dmg recently replied to. Each are things already in game or simple fixes. Anything complex or adding actual content will continue to be ignored

      • Creating “skill trees” is hard...especially when their 2018 mission statement is- “Work less and screw around more in 2018”

        • I agree the RPG mechanic needs to be retied into the game, however I will edit with a response after I read the post if you do not see a (edit-) consider it as I agree with the concept and have no real holes to poke at.

        • Why not just armor perks and bring back artifacts?

          • In my humble opinion, changing the skill tree to what it is now is worse the casualisation, it was a huge nerf. We had our ability to choose taken away and replaced with 2 skill trees that offer a couple of good perks and a couple do bad ones. Catering to casuals doesnt come close to excusing the fact that we can't even pick and choose our perks like we could in D1. If you're a casual player it won't matter much to you how your tree is set up, if you're semi-casual then you might look up some suggestions or just mix and match till you find what you like most, simple as that. I didn't know what the hell I was doing when I started D1 but with time and practice I got used to everything by the time the dark below dropped, I started paying attention to forums and the meta for PvP whenever I played that and I just kept using the layout I liked the most in PvE or the one that fit the situation. Bottom line, yes I want our skill trees back, and now I want even more. I want our INT, DIS and STR back on our armor even if each tier means slightly less than it did in D1, I want armor, recovery and agility back in the skill trees (and for agility to do something for once) and I want even more perks. Not a massive amount more right away, but a couple of columns of perks to mix and match would be nice.
Titans, by default, have 15% more HP than other classes. This might seem like a lot, but the goal is for Titans to be noticeably more tanky than other classes. There will be downsides discussed about this further down. Warlocks, by default, have 15% faster HP recovery and 15% faster recovery start time than other classes. Hunters, by default, have 20% faster movement speed (including sprint speed), 20% more slide distance and faster slide animations, and 20% higher jump height than other classes.
^This
The second augment would give the Arcstrider the ability to javelin throw the Arcstaff with R2, consuming the rest of the Super gauge, and have it stuck in the ground where it lands. Then, based on how much Super gauge was consumed, it remains in the ground and releases arc lightning to damage enemies that come within range of the staff.
You throw it and it stick. You super keeps draining and the staff does DoT over the area. But you have the ability to free up your gun and go back and pick up the staff again.

                • Yes ... The totally dumbed down skill trees are of the main reasons i didn't purchase D2 I was hoping for more depth than D1 not less ... But unfortunately i don't think D2 can or will be saved ... Just remaster D1 I'll buy it ... then add dlc 👍 Long live D1 🤘

                    • I upvoted you but not gonna happen. They want this game to be as mindless and easy as possible in order to attract a bigger audience. Which technically worked since they made a lot of money. Granted a lot of people stopped playing but they still easily surpassed their sales target I can assure you that.

                      • It would appear that Hunters gain the most there while Titans the least, with their one 15% bonus, methinks it was all designed by a hunter for a hunter.😬

                        • Wouldn’t want to see it be more RPG than FPS, but would like to see more RPG elements and influence with it remaining action focused. Will also warn that messing with HP boost without a damage boost counter is potentially disastrous. Even call of duty had stopping power to counter juggernaut. For this could give hunters better damage on crits and general weapon handling (ads time, reload, ready and swap), and locks a cool down reduction. Locks in particular should be more ability spammy at the cost of less effective gun use. Titans could also have a recoil reduction due to heavy armor. Then move onto melee boosts for Titan and hunter give they have melee focused lore and some melee focused subs. Locks could also be given some kind of passive energy absorption from energy weapons and abilities to add to recharge rate or slight damage boosts. If you want to change even more of destiny, then could switch to the halo shield system, blocking headshots vs shields and giving the classes different shield/ armor balances with the locks being most shielded and least armored and Titans being the most armored and hunters be a good mix.
