Ouchies! This Warframe Article Seems to Directly Target D2 Players
A lot of the issues people are griping about on these boards are directly talked about in this article. I'm not playing Warframe and haven't intended to, but this article actually piqued my interest. I'll be playing D2 for a while to come, but Bungie folk ought to have taken notice of this article and taken it to heart, by now.
I may even download Warframe to take a peek.

2 RepliesHonestly, Warframe is hardest to get into at the very beginning, when EVERYTHING looks pay walled (remember this is more content then destiny 1 and destiny 2 put together, you could spend 60 dollars on platnum and still have more content then the 1000 dollars you've likely spent on destiny, but you don't actually HAVE to buy anything) Once you get a stance mod for a melee weapon you like, and a rifle you like... You're going to be tearing up and having fun.... Personally, I like Ember + Atterax whip + AkMagnus + maybe shotgun or sniper.... Ivara is also a ton of fun... Once you get use to the controls it's really honestly more fun then I've ever had in Destiny, the main problem is the lack of iron sights mean all firing except snipers are third person which can be a pain in the ass, and the fact that the cross hair isn't red on snipers can be irritating as well. One bow I'll warn you against... The Daikyu. Hit's like an absolute hammer and will fire through a whole hoard of enemies... But it only fires at a full draw, you can't quick fire it, and you can't draw the bow and wait, because it times out after a while and you have to relax your grip. Very high risk, only moderate rewards, very task oriented. Probably better things to put your effort into grinding for.

Yeah played Warframe and liked it. True it’s a niche game and not to everyone’s taste. A lot like Elite:Dangerous,which is also a niche game. What sets these games apart from the mass produced offerings of big studios and publishers is their vision. Digital Extremes and Frontier each had a vision of a game that they wanted to create and stuck to those visions. Improving along the way as their communities grew. Even though either of those games is for everyone they have both found dedicated player bases and a certain level of success without pandering or dumbing down there product to reach a larger audience. That’s why I personally find myself drawn more to these small studios and their visions and away from the so called AAA offerings from big publishers. It’s their attention to detail and their drive to constantly improve upon their ideas. Because without that dedication to their product they would go broke and lose everything they worked so hard to bring to life. Hopefully the examples set by these small developers will bring about a much needed change in the industry. That quality is it’s own selling point. That attention to player feedback is its own selling point. That if you capture the imagination of a community and then grow that community with a well thought out and implemented vision,success and it’s financial rewards will be guaranteed.

1 ReplyWarframe is entirely too complex for a certain percentage of gamers in this community. You actually have to think to be able to complete endgame content in warframe. The visuals aren’t as stunning as destiny but the two pale in comparison. Destiny is not fun anymore. It’s a vanilla stripped down shell of what it used to be. So the real question is, why did destiny go in reverse and make everything so damn easy and boring? I’m sure d1 players like myself remember all the complaints about snipers,nerfs,buffs,matchmaking and just everything in general. Well here it is,d2. This is what happens when you try to please everyone, which is the primary reason so many players are playing warframe as well as other titles and have left destiny. I’m not saying I won’t return to destiny, but I am not going to whine about anything, I get to spend my time gaming how I choose. Right now, my opinion is warframe is much better, but destiny has the tools to be the best ever. Only time will tell.

8 RepliesWarframe is even more boring than D2. All it is is people running and jumping around, rushing everything. Basically if you have people running through strikes, then you'll hate Warframe (and yes I've downloaded the game and played it)

4 RepliesGood article. I tried Warframe in the past, and I still have it installed, but I never really got into it, thanks to Destiny 1, and a few other games that had me hooked. But since D2 is still pretty dull, I might pick up Warframe again. (That's if I can stop playing Rocket League long enough) :)

It also is a very slow burn and takes plenty of time and effort to build into, if ignoring the "pay-to-skip" option that is ever present. The game is an investment. 3 RepliesWarframe has great gameplay but after the last update I couldn't honestly recommend it right now. They're releaseing cosmetics/warframes and weapons at a rapid fire rate lately and while that might sound cool, keep in mind that inventory slots MUST be purchased with real money (hence the non-stop barrage of new stuff). That's not counting the potential cost of "Orokin Catalysts" that allow weapons to be fully modded. Plat costs for in-game items are getting absurd and damage/armor scaling in the game is outright broken at this point. A year ago, before DE got purchased by the Chinese, Warframe was amazing. Now, everything they add seems to be designed to push players into Plat purchases. Check it out and see what you think, but it's not as ethical as Polygon thinks, DE just isn't AS BAD about it as Bungie.

Here's the thing with Warframe: it's the same game but Eververse has a different face. tl;dr: If you want your grind to be even less rewarding or you'd rather buy the equipment you want instead of spending months grinding the materials to make it only to wait an arbitrarily long time for it to actually craft, mazel tov. Do you like long and repetitive grinds with little-to-no payoff? Do you enjoy the feeling of janky movement and horribly unbalanced gameplay? Do you want your cape to say more about you than the equipment you use? Do you want to be prepared when you go play Eve Online? If you said yes to any of these, then Warframe is for you. Don't like anything I just told you? Don't worry, you can just go buy Platinum from their website, use that to buy the equipment you want from the market and pretty much just skip playing the entire game! You can also pick up any cosmetics you want for your new gear while you're there as well, because grinding those is even more tedious than grinding out the gear you want to begin with. Like Destiny it has potential, but they repeatedly make the wrong decision every patch and any time they've made a right decision they've nearly instantly patched it right back to the wrong decision. Case and point: Event exclusive mods. These things break the game since nobody at DE knows how to look at a [i]spreadsheet[/i] when they calculate damage output and are only available during events, so unless your friends give you theirs you are S.O.L.

2 RepliesWarframe has its flaws as well. Really really REALLY!!! small drop chances. Like 1% in some cases. Same trolls in the chat rooms. Scammers. Rerun same mission 1000 times still not the drop you need or want. While DE workers are ok some of the "chosen" moderators are complete *****. Rampant abuse of powers with little to no over sight by DE in any way. Support is the same joke as bungie in 90% of the time they are little to no help. 2 completely different games with different sets of problems that both seem are not inclined to work on as long as money is coming in.

2 RepliesWarframe is a great game but they do have massive amounts of premium cosmetic items. It is free to download but eventually you will end up spending real money on cosmetic or needed items in game.

3 RepliesDestiny went in a completely different direction than Warframe. Destiny purposely limits the rpg aspect to cater to people who don’t understand games like warframe. In my opinion, Bungie thinks that the average gamer is stupid, and incapable of understanding rpg games. I get it. Just look in any thread about warframe. There’s at least one person who brings up how confusing it is. That’s the person that Destiny is targeting now. Absolutely no disrespect intended to people who get confused by complex rpg games. You want to pick up a controller and kill things without researching how to play. Nothing wrong with that.

14 RepliesSimply put, this article shows the difference of management between DE and Bungie. DE: Franchise success by INCLUDING player feedback in development. BUNGIE: Franchise stagnation and decline by EXCLUDING player feedback in development. Digital Extremes listens to feedback, engages with the player base, and promptly "fixes" any game issues in a well communicated timely manner. Bungie? Not so much.

You should. Warframe is actually a pretty fun game, I've been playing it since release. Only thing is that it does get bores if you dont have people to play with. Hopefully you have some fun on therr!

I've been playing warframe the past couple of weeks and I'm loving it, along with most of my d2 clan. I used to read in the forums all the time about people moving to warframe and recommending it and thought how good could a free game be. Turns out they were right. If anyone is on the fence about warframe I say give it a try, it is free after all.

10 RepliesI am currently playing Warframe...and...playing is a large word. I am 14 hours in and have no freaking clue what the hell I am doing or what half the stuff I am picking up during missions actually is. The game literally doesn't explain anything. At all. This is an issue. Because I am not even sure how I can fully utilize all the moves my Warframe supposedly has....in fact...I have only discovered how to do 2 of the 3 moves. While the actual game play during missions is quite fun...and literally anything is viable...the movement is fantastic...I am sure I would enjoy it more when I actually understand what I am doing. But the lack of explanation is an absolute issue. There however is no real comparison to be made with Destiny....they are entirely different games.

I won’t lie. I’ve been playing Warframe and some other members of my clan have moved to it too. None of my clan plays D2 anymore, but we’d all love to if it was built off of D1 features instead of a watered down version. We are only a small clan of 20, but I’m sure our experience isn’t unique. Warframe is good, but the second Bungie gets their act together (makes our Guardians the powerful demigods they used to be and moves focus from Eververse to endgame) I’ll be back, and most of my clan will too. #OneCanDream

This is sad. It really is. You have all these people who love how the game plays and you shit on them with how horrible the rest of the game is because you've become lazy and greedy, Bungie. Minus sound and art, you guys rock. Phukk these Christmas noobs and filthy casuals. Most of us are done with D2. You've already phukkd yourself out of this dlc 3 and 4 purchase, D3 pre-order, and whatever other money I might have thrown at the screen going forward. D3 better be better than the invention of sliced bread and pickles. Phukk am I saying, you're still banking at the end of the day lol

I've heard about this game for awhile. May be time to check it out. This sounds like how Destiny should be....but sadly isn't.
