If d2 is slowly bringing back d1 weapons which according to Bungie were all destroyed by mayor mccheese then surely touch of malice would fit in with current lore and connect to savathun since a piece of oryx's soul is trapped inside it.
Edit: I'm not referring to the abilities of the weapon I'm speaking from a lore sense.
Edit 2: I've just has a super cool idea. We know Eris is off fingering the hive, let's assume she took ToM with her. She gets killed by Savathun and leaves ToM behind. We have to somehow take an essence from Oryx's dead body (still floating around Saturn) and combine with his soul inside the ToM and it makes a super awesome weapon used to kill Savathun.

1 ReplyThe contingency plan and the sr4 scouts feels alot like the tom

3 RepliesWhat they should do is develop new weapons that were as unique and interesting as ToM, hell even getting it was good fun. But no they would prefer to bring back all the things that were 'destroyed' in the tower, that way the devs get more time to play battlefield or whatever it is they do all day

It's would be to op for the meta

1 ReplyTouch of Malice had a specific use: the TTK raid. Without the raid, the gun is kinda shit.

9 RepliesDon't you remember? It got destroyed, just like your MIDA Multi-tool, Telesto, Helm of Saint 14, Insurmountable Skullfort., Hard Light, Jade Rabbit, Celestial Nighthawk, Knucklehead Radar, Young Ahamkara's Spine, Lucky Raspberry, Shinobu's Vow, ACD/0 Feedback Fence, Crest of Alpha Lupi, Dunemarchers, Mk. 44 Stand Asides, Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Sun"Bracers" (-___-), Starfire Protocol, Tranversive Steps, Ophidian Aspect, and the Stag.... wait a minute... ;)

6 RepliesI'm actually curious about this. In the book of sorrows Oryx had killed both of his sisters. He brought them back by committing acts their worms thrived on. So does that mean its possible for him to come back if savathun or xivo arath do the same?

2 RepliesIt would not shock me if guardians have been going to the burnt out remains of the tower and digging around the rubble and a handful of weapons survived.

4 RepliesEdited by Archival Mind: 1/8/2018 8:19:22 PM<I honestly would love the ToM to come back. I want to kill Savathun with Oryx's worm... that came out wrong-ish...>

It went from a touch of malice to a whole boatload of malice on the forums

10 RepliesThe real question is why would you want that useless gun.
-
I imagine that it became Eris Morn's weapon of chioce. Much like Ace of Spades became Cadye's gun and Shaxx got our sword.
-
3 RepliesIf it stayed the same the damage would be lame and the infinite bullets thing would get us killed even faster. Also no invulnerability Auras either...
-
Truth be told, I think Eris might have taken it with her. She left to deal with the hive. How will she fight them? With a piece of paper? What better way to fight your enemy, than to use the soul of your king?

4 RepliesThe gun was rendered useless outside of the Taken King Raid after a patch. Before being patched: when paired with a blessings and weapons of light titan ward of dawn it was the ultimate tool of destruction. What they need to bring back are the gjallahorn, sleeper, and the three exotic swords.

She gone.

BBQ’d by the Red Legion.

That gun is useful for like 5 minutes, calcified fragments can suck it.
-
Maybe when we return to the Dreadnaught we'll get another Hive/Taken themed weapon.

3 RepliesThey killed it when they stopped it working with blessings. It went from being a situational gun that had three or four places where use was legit, to a situational gun with one place of use, the daughters, why'd dey do dat? Oh i remember pvp was whining about being killed by it. Good ol pvp ruining destiny since the vex mythoclast.

I mean, and this is just a thought, but since we killed Oryx through sword logic, I would think his soul would deteriorate over time. Not sure about his worm though.

5 RepliesWe're rebuilding what we can. ToM has oryxs heart in the gyroscope thingy, so unless you have a spare Oryx laying around, it can't be rebuilt.
