Heavy ammo's been fixed but (at least for me) special hardly ever drops.

You see I didn’t say that the ammo issues went for a specific weapon type. Heavy and special both have ammo synthesis and it’s just, inconsistent. I don’t find it satisfying or fun, just making PvE a bigger slot machine than eververse.
-
You said D2's ammo was consistent. For me it's very inconsistent, heavy can drop for an entire strike but then only two bricks drop for the next one and for special ammo it hardly ever drops.

I always have more special than primary, I really only use special in D2 for shields and ranges where my kinetic is outclassed. Power ammo drops from what feels like 85% of the time (for me) when you kill a major, and strikes typically have at least a dozen majors. You’re bound to get a couple whole inventories of power. The only time I feel like the ammo is inconsistent is in the Calus encounter of the raid. Especially if I’m not in the throne room. This is because there’s not a whole lot of Majors, and I really have to monitor their spawns/death locations. D1’s ammo system was a flipside. A large pack of thrall was my best chance at getting heavy to drop, and even then, it was rare. Your ammo synthesis was the source of 80% of your heavy and it was just awful.

You must have had bad luck in D1 has it was never that bad. D1 and D2 are pretty even in ammo drops (except for the increased bonus against majors)
-
They don’t call the heavy ammo drought in D1’s dark below the heavy ammo drought because it “was never that bad...” And you know why it was the heavy ammo drought? Xûr stopped selling ammo synths. Not a coincidence. Hence why we started utilizing glitches to get heavy to drop such as emptying your primary and secondary for heavy ammo. Sugar coat it all you want, D1’s actual drop rate for heavy is awful. Especially compared to D2. When you have like two dozen majors each strike it’s easy ammo. Just because you can’t open your inventory and pop a consumable for free heavy doesn’t mean the drop rate is bad.
-
The drop rate was fine the drought was a glitch that xur stopped seeling synthesis and dying lost all ammo, this lasted about 3 weeks.
-
Neither of those were glitches, just bungie’s dumb design choices
-
They just happened..... I don't think anyone would intentionally make it so dying forces you to lose all your ammo and I'm pretty sure Xur issue was due to icon limit.
