Thoughts on Gunslinger?
I never see anyone talk about Gunslinger, personally it's my favorite to use but I haven't seen anyone say it's "OP" or "terrible".
so what's your opinions on Gunslinger?

I prefer the D1 golden gun in those situations. I’m just gonna get this off my chest so that it doesn’t bother me as much anymore Golden gun in D1 Pros You have a lot of range It is Hitscan You can one shot pretty much anything except for ward of dawn Cons You have only 3 shots (4 with symbiote exotic) You have no armour/damage resistance ( you can one hit other supers but they can also one hit you. You have a short timer In D2 however Pros You have a lot of range You can have up to 6 shots (assuming you use that path ) Hitscan Con You have very little time (way too little in my opinion) You still have no armour You can’t one hit other supers unless you use the bottom tree You need to get a headshot ( this doesn’t bother me too much but it still is a Con) Gunslinger is still a pretty good class (probably the best Hunters have) I guess the thing that bothers me about golden gun is that is doesn’t feel like the glass cannon it was in D1. I just feel like the six shooter’s GG should have some armour, seeing as it can’t one supers but every super can one hit it. Either way it’ll probably never get buffed and I’m fine with that. GG is still in a pretty nice spot, just needs requires you to be a bit more careful when dealing with other supers. [spoiler]Please don’t take this as me asking for a buff. I’m just venting some frustrations I have. I don’t really expect anything to change[/spoiler] PvE is another story entirely. It is probably the best class for boss DPS in the game. Throw celestial on top of way of the sharpshooter and you have one very powerful boss killer

I always play hyper-aggressive, so the Six-Shooter tree is the best. It works like a charm

It is terrible. The game is so bad we don't even comment on it these days. They nerfed the time available for the 3 shot golden gun can you believe that??? Man they got this stuff. They are slap on professionals at game making.

5 RepliesMake it one shot even when a dumb Titan is in his super. If he can throw 6 hammers and there all one shot my 3 bullets should be one shot even if I hit them in the big toe.

4 Repliesits the slowest and least aggressive. for pve with the right exotic its some of the best boss damage in the game. in pvp it has potential, id say its a decent all rounder in pvp with no real one thing it excels at, so i mainly just put in weapon/stat mods and no ability mods for them. there kit is arguably pretty boring though.

I still run it in Crucible too just for the extended duration and Orb generation but haven't run Way of the Outlaw since they increased its base duration. I still think Sharpshooter is the way to go. Incendiary grenades for PvE, Swarm for PvP.

3 RepliesGunslinger is great in PvE with way of the sharpshooter's orb generation, and precision damage (especially with nighthawk). Outlaw is ok for PvP.....only without six shooter selected imo due to the very short time. Speaking of which did anyone notice in one of the CoO trailers that the six shooter had a buff where a kill extened it's duration....I kinda would prefer that over the changes they went with instead when the expansion released

In PvE- Terrible abilities other than Knife Juggler through and through. The grenades are weak, nearly all require specific placement, and offer no sustainable damage. 5 of the 8 cluster perks are passives that simply make Golden Gun easier to use or stronger. They're the absolute worst super for add clearing, and the perk that builds up golden gun faster is made useless if you don't use weak weapons that can land a lot of precision shots before killing enemies. The other perks are made useless if you can't land the killing blow on your targets because you actually function as a team. In other words, Don't use a gunslinger in PvE unless you want the role of boss DPS or occasional major slayer. In PvP- Neutral game is a bit better since swarm grenades can be used to delay or bait enemies. Throwing knives take too much effort for such low damage though, and if they land non precision they're weaker than normal charged melee attacks if I recall. So pretty much just run Outlaw for 6 shots of golden gun and explosive knives. It's all they have going for them. Watch out though, since Gunslingers get no armor in super, they can be one shotted by more things than other classes when it's active. Like lightning grenades.

In PvP? Neutral game is kinda eh, but easily the most powerful super I’m the game.

2 RepliesGolden gun can snipe 1-hit kill in PvP. Doesn't matter where you aim. You can make up to 6 light balls from your Golden Gun. Or you can only make 2 and make the Golden Gun hit like a truck. You have a grenade that follows people. Swarm Grenade. In PvE it's one of the best dps-wise grenades against bosses because the ones from the Void doesn't affect all. Some fly/levitate and the Voidwall grenade is rendered useless and others are just "what?" like Vortex grenade in which bosses like the Cyclops from the Garden World or Savathun are only affected by the initial explosion and ignores the vortex completely. Or you can swap to incendiary and watch the world burn. Your weapon is awesome but your reload is just awful? Gunslinger fixes that problem for you with Chains of Woe. What's not to like?

2 Repliesif a hammer titan can kill a golden gun hunter with one hammer, a golden gun hunter should be able to kill a hammer titan with one golden gun shot (with the six shooter or the three shooter) golden gun is the only super that doesn't get any type of extra shield, so golden gun should one shot anyone regardless if they are in or using their super.

6 RepliesThe only reason I use it is because of Celestial Nighthawk. Invisibility on Nightstalker is way too much of a surviviability crutch for me. But now that Nightstalker is useless for boss damage.... Im Gunslinger almost always

4 RepliesI use mainly Nightstalker on my Hunter but when I play Gunslinger I prefer the Outlaw path. I'm a little disappointed by Gunslinger to be honest. My favorite part of the Gunslinger in D1 was the throwing knife, the D2 throwing knife just doesn't feel like it hits as strong anymore. As for the explosive knife specifically, the explosion feels kinda worthless most of the time, very little damage output.

1 ReplyI love gunslinger. Just started actively using it on my Hunter, which i now main. Throw on Celestial Nighthawk and you're golden. That's what I use on mine. Really, really helps with bosses to take a good chunk of health off. I guess with that being said, that's kind of the only reason I even use gunslinger, is because of Celestial nighthawk.
