Accidentally discovered today that the companion app will "delete" items if a specific sequence is followed. Attempt to transfer an item to a character who's items are full (power weapon to power weapon or whatever), and it will notify you that there are no available slots. Try to transfer again without backing out from that page and the item disappears. I did this to my Perfect Paradox, an item I spent 8+ hours grinding for, and there's currently no way to get it again. Note: I was attempting to move this weapon to my Hunter character, as I was playing on that character. When I realized that my power weapon slots were full I deleted a blue item, and tried to transfer again. Though there was an open slot, the weapon disappeared. Please give me back this weapon. I just got it yesterday and I was so excited to play with it today.

The app cannot delete an item. When this type of scenario happens, the item usually ends up in the vault. This is due to the app sending an item from CharacterA -> vault -> CharacterB. Check your character(s) vault in game (not through app). You may also need to close/reopen Destiny2 in order for your game to refresh the items.
