With Titan-skating being pretty much removed and all the nerfs to shoulder-charge, is there any reason to keep it?
Personally I would like to see it removed and replaced with a perk like warlock 'devour' except it would grant an overshield that recharges on kills.
What are your thoughts?

Replace my socks.......they are stronger then shoulder charge

I thought the same. After the shoulder charge nerf it became useless. Can’t 1 hit kill, can’t be used to reach longer distance, tracking never works... it’s completely useless

1 ReplyWhat makes it worse...it takes up a perk node on all the sub-classes. Not that it matters the cool downs are ridiculous even with three melee mods.

Edited by TwoFiveOne_: 1/4/2018 12:20:31 AMI felt that the removal of Titan skating was justified. It made no sense why the class with the most armor could travel so much faster than every other class combined. OG shoulder charge was also overpowered imo, because you could slide-shoulder charge, and gain instant momentum without a cooldown. In D2, I liked what they did. It could still be used for mobility, and it still gave you an advantage in a close range fight, but it was not instant death, and it had a short cooldown after used. That being said, I feel the nerf was stupid and unnecessary. Titans were perfectly fine in PvP, if not a little underpowered, but that set them back a lot. I did find a work-around for the nerf however. This is most effective with the hammer charge. By jumping on elevated surfaces like boxes, crates, pillars etc. and using the grounded shoulder charge, you get all of the initial speed, and continue off of the object without losing any.

Shoulder charge should have been left as a one hit kill melee. You removed the titan skate so why not leave it as a one hit kill?

3 RepliesEdited by Bulked, Apostle of Strengf: 12/31/2017 3:16:00 PMI don't understand why they nerfed the potency of everything across the board along with the cooldowns. Neither were necessary, but one or the other would have been tolerable. It gets really old, especially in PvP, when you throw a grenade at someone and land a series of headshots only to die to their rocket or teamshotting. As it is now, Titan's charge melees are basically a death sentence in PvP and kinda useless in PvE. The issue is that Shoulder Charge was never designed to consume melee energy, so they kind of lumped it in with the charged melees of other classes. So, in that regard, shoulder charge is still ok, but overall it's just awkward to use now. Maybe even a small perk that reloads weapons upon hits and reloads weapons and grants grenade energy on kills.

3 RepliesWhen paired with the Insurmountable Skullfort, it regens health on kill, instantly recharges on kill, and recharges your grenade a little. Nobody cares about PvP. It's the reason D2 sucks.

2 RepliesShoulder-charge melee enhancement still offer their rather large, and quick mobility shifts when targeting enemies. This is what they were intended to be used for in the first place. Titan-skating was never an intended system. Using shoulder charge just for the sake of moving was never an intended system. Shoulder charge is an active attack system, by concept and design, to quickly transition from one location, to another, while dealing with an obstacle, such as a door, or a person.

I honestly think Shoulder Charge should 1 hit like in D1, it makes sense considering it has a cooldown. Risk vs Reward. And so far, it's high risk vs little reward.

14 RepliesShoulder charge was never nerfed. It functions exactly the same as it did at launch provided you’re charging at an enemy and not air.

That would be unfair. Warlocks just regain health but you get an overshield? That’s going to get nerfed so quickly... -
Use the other tree and you get an overshield

1 ReplyShoulder charges still feel pretty powerful to me. Maybe you mean for PvP?
-
I'd rather keep my shoulder charge. They need to make it D1 mobile.

Lessen the activation time and give it an enemy knock back feature, it might be somewhat usable in pvp

31 RepliesAt least you HAVE an extra skill. Hunters don’t have anything like shoulder charge.

3 RepliesAs the ability sits now it needs either greater lethality or a shorter activation time. It requires a few seconds before becoming viable which is far too long for its current lack of overall effectiveness. IMO it should: 1) Function the same and deal more damage. 2) Be usable almost instantly after beginning to sprint. 3) A combo where it has greater effectiveness (ie damage) the longer one sprints and is usable near immediately after sprinting.
