He is literaly stuck there doing nothing in quiet despair, wanting to do something but knowing he can't. Whatever the Genesis mind did to him and his ghost, it damaged him beyond repair. And he's stuck, not being able to do anything, paralyzed with fear and pain, waiting for the vex to fully consume him. I sympathize with Asher. i understand that pain.
