I'm not sure why it happens, but if I play the game with hyperthreading enabled on my CPU, I will eventually start to have periodic freezes that can last up to ten seconds at the worst. Hyperthreading also seemed to be causing some microstutter as well.
I found out that disabling hyperthreading resolves the issue, but of course, I don't want to leave hyperthreading disabled. I don't suppose there's some workaround for this? Maybe a fresh install of Windows?
I also do play the game at framerates over 60fps (144hz monitor), so maybe this has something to do with it as well?

Interesting, I get a problem like this and I've tried a million things... I'll give that a go. I was playing at 144 FPS due to monitor refresh rate but capped FPS lower has made the issue less frequent but still happens.

2 RepliesI've wondered this myself, running an i7 4790k and i get these weird frame rate fluctuations randomly where the game refuses to keep a stable 60 frames regardless of settings but the majority of the time its a locked 60 fps at max settings at 1080p. It seems like its cpu related however it isn't pushing more than 40% cpu at any given time.
