There is just one big problem you all over looked: people will still buy them no matter what you tell them. And that is a problem that cannot fixed. Your efforts are in vain.

Exactly. It has no effect on the end game whatsoever. I certainly don't like them, but as long as I can earn them through playing the game, which you can, there really is no problem here.
