Well you're not wrong about one thing, they don't need eververse and we all know it. They said that eververse would be used to fund live events and give us new content but almost every "live event" has dropped content that we need to buy, we can earn one or two things but after that we have to buy if we want more or of we want something better than that piece of crap we got as a reward. Now that D2 gameplay is practically fueled by eververse, we can see now more than ever that it's an excuse for Bungie to not need to focus so much on story writing, etc. There's little lore left and what lore remains speaks in riddles half the time and doesn't paint a full picture, we can't choose to wear whatever we want anymore (and yet Bungie prided themselves on the ability to play dress up in D1), I could go on but we all know the issues.
