  • A microtransactions event

  • An event none the less that won't stop your progression to 335 or any end game events. People ask for more content. This is additional content. Every day you get a new quest to grind for material in exchange for something you don't have to purchase from Eververse. On top of that, if you've been playing since day 1, unless you're a hoarder, you should have a good amount of bright dust. Every ships, sparrow, ghost, and shader you've ever received from Tess can be dismantled for bright dust. Until Eververse starts selling weapons and armor that will directly affect PVP or PVE, as people love to say, vote with your wallet and don't buy silver. Or do buy silver and continue to fund Bungie hoping they release something you'll be happy with. But don't expect microtransactions to go away. It will only get bigger.

  • Not disagreeing with you is it an event yeah but when most of the event is behind more microtransactions I don't really consider it a free event. The last free update we got was age of triumph which was good cause the community had been asking for that for months. Before that was the April update which was spectacular but was a free update. This is to me and many others is just a cash grab event for mediocore work.

  • You're absolutely right. It is a cash grab. I can't put AoT or the April update in the same group as The Dawning. The first two were huge game patches that added stat tracking to encourage grinding for items. The Dawning, SRL, and Halloween are similar in that they are free and they encourage grinding. Only real difference in the "events" is that Bungie gives you the option to not grind and use bright dust to purchase items directly. If you don't have bright dust, then, as a last effort, you can use real money. I've received three Dawning engrams since the event started (did not play Tuesday or Wednesday) and have received one piece of armor. I have about 3K in dust that I will not be spending on armor because I feel it is not worth it. Now, if Tess sells Exotic Ghosts, I may pick one or two up because long after the event is over, those Ghosts with real perks will still be useful. I don't feel the need to be required to buy silver. No one should.

  • Yeah no one should and I'm saving my dust as well for that exotic dawning ghost
