Wrong, all daily gift items break down into leg shards. The only dawning items that give dust are the 3 weekly engrams you can get if you have 3 toons. 9 max for the entire event. You would have to have monumental luck to get what you wanted from these 9 engrams, it's also impossible to get the entire dawning set for any particular character during event without spending money. Unless you got double armour drops each week from the engrams.

Both sparrows were in my vault so I just pulled one out and dismantled and got dust. Little bit ago I dismantled a ghost as soon as I got it cause I knew I had a duplicate and all it gave me was a legendary shard and glimmer. That’s bs.

If everything could break down into dust that would be better. That said, I still would rather have obstacles, targets, goals to attain stuff instead of simply play and get lucky to get anything.
