This is just a possibility, but perhaps eververse microtransactions didn't work aas well as they were hoping, so they couldn't make the DLC free.

The DLC was made in the same development cycle as the main game, I've no doubt CoO was ready to go before D2 launched and I'd bet the Rasputin DLC has been ready this whole time too.
-
You have to be dumb af to think that, or a child, if you a child i am sorry. If you an adult you are dumb AF
-
Then why can the content be datamined on PC?
-
I doubt that what I said is true, but I try to stay positive when it comes to this game. There are people who actually enjoy this game and I don’t want to constantly be spreading more toxicity about the game. As I said before, it is simply a possibility.
-
You have to understand that the community is not toxic. We are fighting to defend ourselves from predators. When you pretend the situation is fine you are helping the predators. The community needs to unite against Bungie. So we ALL can enjoy a game that has not been stripped for Monetization. Bungie cannot charge us for the game , plus DLC's then execute a free to play model. It's literally like they are robbing us. Selling you a game, stripping it, then selling it back to you,I refuse to be fine with this. If you want the game to continue to get worse( compare how many new exotics were made for armor and guns for the dlc VS the new exotics in the eververse for the PAID DLC and the dawning). Then continue to blindly support, or argue for bungie, but they are destroying your experience too. wake up
-
I can understand where you’re coming from, but the way I see it, all the complaints are just destroying the player base. The more people hear about how terrible it is, the more people stop playing it. And if Bungie were to fix these issues and if the next DLC was actually worth it, few people would know because everyone stopped playing the game. The way I see it, there is no right or wrong in this situation, it’s just a matter of perspective. I don’t think that you’re wrong, but I also don’t think that I’m wrong. We’re both trying to help the community, just in different ways. You may still think I’m completely idiotic, but I think that despite its flaws it is still a playable and enjoyable game. Are there better game out there? Absolutely. However, I intend to continue playing Destiny 2 because I enjoy it. If you don’t, that’s fine, but I ask you to respect my opinion rather than telling me that I’m stupid. It seems as if people can’t just enjoy games anymore. Sure, it may have a lot of flaws that Destiny 1 didn’t have, but it isn’t too late to go back to Destiny 1.

Oh please. Bungie is ROLLING in the Eververse cash
-
Well like I said, it's just a possibility. But most of the time I hear people complaining about eververse, like this post for example, which leads me to believe that they might not be getting as much money as they expected from it.
-
There are things called whales in the gaming industry, look them up, basically one guy who spends thousands of dollars. Plus a lot of the casual audience who doesn’t go on the forums might spend $10 here and there.
-
So you are basing your statement that Bungie is rolling in the Eververse cash on the assumption that there are some whales out there spending thousands and some casuals are probably dropping $10 here and there. Gotcha.
-
No. I’m basing this on the fact that micro transactions in video games are extremely popular, and every other counterpart is making BILLIONS (yes CoD Bo3 made 2 billion dollars from loot boxes), and Bungie is continuing to add great content into the boxes
-
Bungie is continuing to add great content into the boxes
That's debatable.
-
I hate the loot boxes but the best cosmetic items in the game are in there, which is the problem.
-
I don't care about cosmetic items at all so I'm not concerned about which ones are in the Eververse boxes. I'm certainly not going to spend any real money on trying to get them, either.
-
Plus the non cosmetic only items detailed before
-
The bonuses provided by the exotic ghost are quality of life improvements at best. They don't increase your power, they don't make it easier to clear the raid or top the scoreboard in the Crucible. Extra XP just means you're getting that next Bright Engram slightly faster than before, which of course just provides more unimportant cosmetic loot. And improved PE rewards? So we're getting three tokens and a blue now? Hardly game changing.
-
But the point is that it does change the game in some way. Even if minuscule it goes against their promise
-
hahahaha you expect bungie to keep its promises, hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
-
Are we really that concerned about quality of life stuff? I thought it was pay to win that people were afraid of?
-
This leads to a pay to win system.
-
That's certainly possible. And when that day arrives I'll no longer play Destiny. But until then, I don't care enough to get all crusader about it. There are plenty of other good games to play.
-
I never said anything about pay to win. What I worry about is how all of this is locked behind Bright Engrams, I think instead, you should be able to directly earn the items you want. I want the public event ghost shell, they should like let you complete 1000 public events and then you get it. The problem, to me, is that 99% of all cosmetic rewards are in Eververse. You can’t get ships and shaders from crucible or strikes anymore
-
I know you didn't say pay to win, I was just saying that P2W is the only one I thought people would actually be upset about. I guess if ships and shaders is your thing, I can see why you'd want them as end of activity rewards. I never cared about them in D1 and don't care about them here either. I slap on whatever ship was the latest to drop and delete shaders as they roll in. I'm not going to waste time and glimmer applying shaders to individual items just to change the colour of something I can't see 90% of the time.
-
I just liked grinding for the raid ships and such. I have over 55 completions of WOTM but never got the ship (rip)
-
And you like that mechanic? 55 completions and no ship? I would think that was frustrating and demoralizing.
