Oh yeah, and what exactly is “cosmetic” about getting extra XP per kill and more rewards from public events? (Exotic Ghost Shells)
That they don't effect story or pvp.

You’re telling me that gaining additional rewards from public events is cosmetic only? It does have an impact on gameplay.
-
It's only a small chance, you are nitpicking here.
-
No. If a company straight out says that it will be “cosmetic only”, and they break that promise, it is not nitpicking.
-
Don't think they ever officially said that......

This is just the official info from the introduction and it's purpose https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/13672 https://www.destinypedia.com/Eververse_Trading_Company

IGN is in no way an official statement, but he is still correct. Nothing ever has been pay to win. It's pay for a very very very slight advantage. But truthfully you don't even need to pay, you buy the fireteam boosters with bright dust which you get for free from playing the game, same as ghosts and everything else.
-
IGN wasn’t the one who said it, inside of the article is a Bungie employees quotes
-
I appreciate that, but it's still a magazine journalist that quotes the source. You can't trust what journalists say, if you'd have linked me to a bungie website post it would hold a lot more weight. Plus everything else I said in my last post applies.

It's cosmetic if the object already has a counterpart, or has no real impact in gameplay.
-
At this point I have to ask if you are just stupid. You are telling me that a sparrow moving faster is cosmetic? Cosmetic - used or done superficially to make something look better, more attractive, or more impressive: So a faster sparrow makes the sparrow look better? So an increase in public event rewards THAT STACKS with others (hence no counterparts) makes it look better? Are you serious?
-
Edited by PhantomBrown: 12/21/2017 11:54:43 PMI feel like you don't even play the game otherwise you'd know how little the bonus is and how when you get rewards most likely they are below your power level anyway. You really are nitpicking, it's nowhere near what some games do in microtransactions and power gain. I appreciate your approach to this conversation but in reality it's negligible and I think you know it but don't want to back down. Think about what you are arguing about. Literally how fast 2 sparrows go. I mean cmon man, take a step back.

-
I never disputed that point, at all. Literally not once.
-
How? You have a chance to get a decent weapon or exotic weapon/armor anytime you play...any time. You don't need a ghost that can give you an added chance, you can have it, but it's not needed.
-
So your cool if they put all the armour into eververse ? Since its all just cosmetic.
-
But they didn't, and even if they did, they still have the mechanic to get it through xp grind. Also armor isn't cosmetic, it has actual values, such as damage reduction, and recovery. You can grind out her, set a just like how you could grind out the other sets.
-
Edited by aquativity: 12/21/2017 5:09:50 PMCan you read properly? How does an increase in rewards chances affect gameplay? Take a guess. I never stated that it was needed. Only that Bungie promised cosmetic only
-
It doesn't effect gameplay, there are a ton of people with plenty of everything in game that didn't pay for it, for instance me, I have a fuck ton of different exotics, different weapons...without relying on some ghost or sparrow, or even my clan. You choose to see it effecting...while I have seen no impact on gameplay...even in pvp, even in story, even in the shooter mechanics which this game is based on.
-
I don’t understand what you are arguing? Are you saying that increased rewards, or highlighting resource chests doesn’t change ANY part of gameplay? By definition it does, even minority, change some aspect of the code.
-
Make a hunter and get enhanced radar, it's the same thing, except they give everyone an equal chance at getting that ability somewhat through ghosts. They already had something in game, a gameplay mechanic, and the made it available to everyone.
