Dude stop. Movies are NOT the same as video games. If you want to make a point, compare destiny’s bs to another game.

  • Okay well how about the fact that the story mode length is on par with other FPS games and the PvP is available for endgame like most FPS games but they also have adventures, patrols, strikes, raids, public events, weekly updates on missions like nightfall’s, special events like IB, Mayhem, Trials and most likely SRL. Take all that into consideration and even at the 100 dollar price tag for the complete game + expansions and your getting a pretty good deal versus other forms of digital entertainment. But y’all want to cry about some exclusive content (which is not required at all to play any part of the game) being offered up for sale to those that don’t mind spending a few extra dollars. This same content is available to anyone who wants to grind for it.

  • bit of a text wall: I believe the real crying is about the loot itself really to its core having nothing to add to the game experience being that it's purely cosmetic other than ghosts and sparrows having the perks that they do. Bungie has taken this approach, flawed the 3oC system due to poor coding and actually put more effort into the dawning "a free event" than CoO which is paid content. Masterworks is a step in the right direction that they need to build on. Maybe perks that help like explosive round, glass half full, head seeker. They give us raid weapons and armor that are just cosmetic and do nothing in the raid yet in d1 the armor and weapons from raids did stuff for said raids. They brought back exotics from d1 instead of being a creator and developer "which is their job btw" and bringing new, unique exotics for their fans. D1 was a start but you don't just throw it away and start from scratch with d2. You build from it. We lost everything from our fight with cabal. Our tower was destroyed. Everything gone. If that's true, mida, telesto, stand asides, saint 14, jade rabbit, etc... both weapons and armor pieces destroyed. You had a successful game and you threw it all away and got lazy. Maybe it's Activisions fault.. idk. Either way I paid for content and I'm playing the content i paid for with hopes that maybe bungie will see the potential this game has and makes it right. I thought about getting a job with bungie recently cause it must be nice doing the least possible and still collecting a paycheck. "Ok, what do we have for rewards and loot? Uhhh... They can make the gun they already own a different color.. BRILLIANT!!!" C'mon bungie!

No. The strikes are cheap and the new ones are just story missions, mercury as a patrol space is pathetic, the amount of reskins in this game devalues it a lot, and weekly updates to the nightfall? Pfft, nothing like destiny one where even the base game had more modifiers than this one does. Oh and If mayhem is considered an “event”, it’s a damn shame.

  • Last of Us was a great game that players loved that had paid DLC, and didn’t push a heavy microtransaction economy to give players what they wanted. Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was also a great game players loved that did not have a heavy microtransaction economy on top of base game cost. Even Battlefield 1 which charges $60 for the game and another $50 for DLC Season Pass doesn’t have a heavy microtransaction economy behind which most of the games best cosmetic items are hidden. After $100 on a base game and a DLC Season Pass, I expect the cool content additions to be achievable in-game. I could understand some items being behind Eververse since by all means, you can slowly unlock the gear through Bright Engrams; however, we’re talking about ALL the Dawning gear and 50% of the Osiris gear. And to complete your shabby analogy, this is like going to a movie and then saying it’ll be $10 so you pay. And then they say ok well if you want the 3D glasses, it’ll be another $5. Mind you, if you don’t pay for the glasses, the movie you already paid for won’t even work anymore so you better get those glasses to continue enjoying (post-DLC). Oh, and by the way. You already paid for the movie AND the glasses AND the popcorn and drink... but what you didn’t realize is there’s a really cool post-credits scene that we could just as easily let you watch since you already paid us SO MUCH but it’ll be another $10 to view it. It’s not a part of the base movie.

  • Okay so they take and put all this content into the mix with the stuff that’s already available when completing a match, strike, raid, etc and then give it a 1 in 1000 drop rate so you still get the same basic gear but once every 3 hours you get a piece of Osiris or dawning gear. Compared to getting a bright engram every 1.5 hours that has the new stuff in it. You see the only difference is now those who want it faster can pay money to roll the dice and see what happens. Because what’s the sense in having some cool gear if EVERYONE gets it on the first day? Also you missed the point on the movie, idk where you go but anywhere I’ve been regular movie is one price, 3D experience costs extra and imax even more. It’s all about how much a consumer is willing to spend to enhance their experience.

I have a moviepass and can watch any (new) movie with no limit for less than $10 a month. Or I can wait a little longer and watch it on base entirely free. Food and drinks of any kind, I can either bring it in myself or I eat before/after the movie. And most are surrounded by places to eat. As for IMAX, that's practically never. Ticket prices are ridiculous as it is. Also, things come out on DVD much quicker than they have before, and if it's not worth a buy, than I'll use Redbox and rent it for a night for $1.99. (though I do take advantage of their offerings, and usually watch for free). And his point is not just with Eververse, it's with everything else. It's a slippery slope, and D1 was the test. This whole DLC, Eververse, QOL changes, Events, etc. business has just been one big cash grab, and it's painfully obvious, especially if you've been a player since the early days of D1 and saw that the majority of it was entirely free (among other things). There is a really good reason why people enjoyed the first Festival of the Lost, but hated the second one. And to put things into perspective, they are essentially offering you much less, but encourage you to spend more. They've gotten incredibly greedy, and this release with Curse of Osiris was unbelievably lackluster. Here is where their priority is: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/240055848?sort=0&page=0 And it shows with the full breakdown that someone made with what Eververse is offering through this event. Even the content creators/youtubers are disgusted with this. I can keep going, and with more emphasis, but I'm only slightly annoyed and not so much angry like most people are. But you should understand where they are coming from.
