Three of Coins Functionality
Hey all,
Throughout the weekend, we’ve been monitoring player feedback concerning the recently added Three of Coins consumable offered by Xûr. We’d like to give clarification on the functionality of this item:
[quote][b]When players use a Three of Coins consumable, this provides a 50% increase to the base chance of being rewarded an Exotic Engram upon activity completion. Using this consumable does not guarantee an Exotic reward upon completing a set number of activities – but rather increased chances upon each activity completion.[/b][/quote]
[b]Note:[/b] We have found that Heroic Strikes do not currently grant higher chances for Exotics when using Three of Coins consumables, compared to Vanguard Strikes. We’re looking to address this with a future Hotfix, expected in early 2018.
We will continue to monitor and forward feedback concerning this feature throughout the holiday season. Keep it coming!
Later this week, we’ll have notes from the development team on additional feedback items that we’re looking to address in the future. Stay tuned.

Why do you wait all weekend to put out this ridiculous post??????????????????????????????????????? How messed up are you people. What is the base chance to get an exotic ZERO??????????????? how about you Clarify that? HOW MAD DO WE HAVE TO BECOME FOR YOU TO ACTUALLY FIX ANYTHING????? and also WHAT IS EARLY 2018 say early december 2018?

Took me 8 hours total to get an exotic. EIGHT HOURS TOTAL with a three of coins. Played heroic strikes and public events. It’s broken. Go back to the way exotics were once gained. Making them way harder to get was a mistake tbh. It’s already a grind to get them and some of us don’t play 24/7.

Hey dumbass three of coins hasn't worked correctly since Destiny 1. I knew it wasn't going to work in Destiny 2. I still bought some just in case they ever get fixed but still they don't work and never worked. Besides if people play the game and stop bitching about it all the exotics are going to continue to be duplicate because there are so few in the game at the moment with only two being extremely hard to get for people if they don't have anyone to play with. The exotics I'm talking about is the legend of acrus ad rat king. One from the raid and the other from nightfall. So unless bungie decides to give 30 spaces for engrams be happy you get anything at all.

Nobody thought they were guaranteed, we know Bungie too well. We all thought they didn't work and they don't. I know Bungie hates us but troll on top of troll on top of troll seems a little excessive? Publicity like this can't possibly breed confidence can it? No need to answer me or anyone. We are all aware of the interaction policy Bungie strictly adheres to. I'm guessing you make this post and never look back. I get it.

8 RepliesThis is ridiculous! Every single time Bungie puts out something new, there is something that "isn't working as intended". I get it, they have to find a way to get people playing since launch to spend those thousands of legendary shards that they've been stockpiling. But when you can't even recycle your old content properly from D1 that you inexplicably took out of the game, you're losing more and more players. I am so sick to death of "we're looking at the data and we agree that "___fill in the blank___ " isn't working as intended. I dropped way too much money in D1 tying to obtain the ghost ghost in the Festival of the Lost, only to get a pitiful "we agree the drop rates weren't working as intended". Did I get a refund? NO. Did I get any sort of compensation for the time and money wasted? NO. This is exactly what is happening again but on a game wide scale. Bungie, we are not your QA department, testing your broken RNG systems with our real money (or fake currencies ie: legendary shards". To borrow an idea that SkillUp presented in his video of why he's done with the game as a whole, "If a restaurant serves you a subpar meal, they make it right by giving you a new meal and maybe even a free dessert. They don't give you the exact same meal that was bad and charge you again for it".

6 RepliesIf they were working better than expected you'd shut the servers down to fix it that day. But, release it and it isn't working... No big deal, we can wait a month or two. Nice. You wonder why everyone thinks you are incompetent and lazy. Test your damn game and don't put off improvements that don't need to be put off. Nobody is going to be playing your game if this continues. You have already lost many D1 loyalists. At least its on computer, right? What a damn waste of resources. More money, way less quality.

A 50% increase over the base drop rate?!? Why even bring 3oC back? I won’t waste my shards on such a dismal chance to get an exotic engram. If you could guarantee that you would have at least 1 or 2 drop in the 4 hours of play, then that would be worth spending shards on.

Also u guys don’t test freaking anything. For examples Prometheus lens. HOW THE FLIP DID IT GET THAT OP. Cause u guys were lazy and didn’t test it. Here’s another example u guys didn’t test jade rabbit. U thought it was fine and was exotic-feeling. But guess what ITS A PIECE OF CRAP. My favorite weapon from D1 and u killed it

In other words no change made to exotic drops except that you have to buy a buff to get them now. Honestly don't bs people that was exactly what you did and nothing else. If you are seriously looking to fix something however drop rates on tokens for events are massively broken like 44 tokens in 3 hours broken and that is on the edz (the fastest area) everywhere else is far far worse. You can't make a game based on grinding tokens for mediocre rewards then take the tokens away all you have left then is a no reason grind.

Ok, so 50% is the increased chance of receiving an Exotic engram. I ran a total of 7 hours, consisted of 3 dozen HEROIC public events and two dozen HEROIC strikes. I received one Exotic Engram in the final hour of that play time. 50% you say? 50% of what base percentage? I can tell you that base is dismally small. First off Bungie recently said in patch notes that the drop rates on Exotic engram in public events was lessened. So the "effect" of the 3oC on them for all we know is nominal depending on the percentage that engrams were nerfed on public events in the first place. Second in Heroic strikes what was the percentage of Exotic engram drop rates when they came out with the DLC drop? Again 3oC "effects" could be nominal. 50% of what? For all I know the one Exotic engram was a random drop that generally would have dropped without the "effect" of 3oC. The only thing I didn't test was whether or not using the Vanguard boons for Fireteam Medallions had an adverse effects on 3oC. Judging by Bungie's hidden XP modifications it wouldn't surprise me to find that one of these items cancels out the effect on the 3oC and it not be communicated to us. Or course I'm looking at other avenues for acquiring Exotics I don't have, but the 3oC's "effect" is not worth the shards. Give us numbers, something that shows us what is worthwhile to use.

Tested for several online games over a span of 15 plus years and this by far is the most unorganized and dysfunctional company and game ever!!! Please do us all a favor and before you even think about designing or going public about a D3 get the budget for a 3 year private testing before hand. And I mean when it’s actually done than do 3 years of testing!!!
