I am slightly confuzzled. The lore for Perfect Paradox says Saint-14 sits atop the shattered husk of the Vex mind designed to kill him. Does that mean he’s alive?

Saint received the gun from us sometime in the future and took it to cryptarchs who said that we (our player characters) created the gun in the infinite forge. We in the game created it in the infinite forge after finding it on Saint-14 corpse. We built the gun, but we couldn't build the gun without Saint-14 already having it. The gun itself is a paradox, hence the name and lore tab. Saint is both alive and dead. The gun doesn't exist yet but it has also existed for a long time

1 ReplyIt could be a simulation of his body. If I was in charge of the vex I’d do something similar to try and break moral among the guardians.

4 RepliesHe could very well be alive as that could possibly just be a simulation of him being dead but he could be alive in the real word somewhere.

1 ReplyWasn’t designed to kill him. It was designed to drain his light. He said it did its job, but he killed it. So he doesn’t have his light but he’s still alive. Just the next time he dies it would be permanent

I always thought Saint-14 was a kind of weird tribute to the Master Chief. He was supposed to end up in an eternal slumber, removed from the situation alive but his date unknown to everyone else. This is where Bungie left MC in Halo before 343 got their hands into him. Coincidentally the 2nd gen writing team for Bungie got their hands into Saint-14 and had to tamper with his original ending too.

2 RepliesEdited by Sturm with no Drang: 12/18/2017 12:09:19 AMAt one point in time, yes. However, after having his light drained I imagine the Vex could have attempted to kill him if he was still alive, albeit in a weaker state. I thought the same thing too and was rather befuddled, but because of the terrible lore connecting-dots, I’d say it is safe to assume that Saint did battle with the Mind elsewhere before ultimately arriving to his resting place which coincidentally happens to be a massive Vex burial mound.
