DO NOT BUY THREE OF COINS!!
Because they don't work.
Tried for four hours on public events; got one exotic. Tried again on heroics, got none. 3oC doesn't do anything, save your shards.

Three of coins only gives you an additional 50% bonus to the chance of getting an exotic from an event. So, lets say we average an exotic at the end of 1 of every 10 heroic strikes, that is a 10% chance of getting an exotic at the end of a the strike. Now you play a 3 of Coins that gives you a 50% boost to that 10% chance at an exotic. This still only gives you a 15% chance of getting an exotic from the strike. Three of Coins were not designed to give a huge boost, just a slightly better chance at exotics. When you calculate odds, a 50% boost doesn't give you much.

1 ReplyApparently the best way to use three of coins is to pop one when you're picking up you're milestone engrams. As the luminous engrams already have a higher chance of granting exotics in the first place and the three of coins boost that base drop rate by 50 percent.

Edited by GakMan: 12/20/2017 9:06:35 PMThey do work. they give you a 50% increase above the percentage that exotics drop for said event. so if in a public event there is a 10% chance to get an exotic and you use the 3oC you would then have a 15% chance at getting it. edit* they did admit that the increase isn't working currently for heroic strikes and that they will fix it when the get back from the holiday.

Strange.... The last 3 of coins I used ended with 3 exotics. BUT I knew the best chance was to play for a couple of hours (got 1) and then haneded in 3 Milestones for power engrams and got 2 more exotics out of 3 rewards.

Spend your extra shards on the engrams from Rahool to get masterwork cores for your weapons. I said fook 3ofCrap and got myself a 335 MW Nameless and Uriel’s 👍🏻

It increases drop chance by 0.04% which is quite a large addition considering the norm and farming heroic events actually gets you 1 exotic every 60-90 minutes as average with this on, 31 shards is nothing in comparison. [b]learn to read ;) [/b]if ya don't like a buff then dont use it but don't go twisting things, it stated that it increases and so it does but it never stated it being guaranteed drop...

5 Replies3oC just plain don't work. Bungie screwed us again. And the inflation in the game right now is terrible...I had nearly 1000 shards...now barely 200 and my vault is empty. And try grinding for Masterworks. It takes forever to get one and if you shade it, 1 core. Maybe 2....but 3 cores. Don't hold your breath. They just went from no grind to too much. We need it somewhere in the middle. Think Bungie...Think!
