Ghaul destroying your stuff was just a lame excuse to start over. That's the real problem with doing sequels for a game like this. It gets rid of progress we made with our characters and has us start over again. There goes three years of progress for D1 players. in ESO I have a character that I have been playing for the past 3 years who I have always made progress with and have accumulated hundreds of stories from both in-game content and player interaction. I have a 4 year old account on Warframe. Games like Destiny, ESO, Warframe, WoW, etc. they are about player progression over the years that they are played, and for that reason, it works against that interest to make sequels. You are never going to see a WoW 2. That is what expansions are for, to build upon the groundwork. D2 should have just been an add on to D1.
