There's nowhere in the game where it says "Level Advantages Enabled" so what's the point?

Excellent question. Currently the only thing our power level is required for is gating access to PvE activities. As someone else around here aptly described it, "You need to be THIS tall to go on this ride." Even then, with the way scaling works, becoming more powerful than the activity's recommended level doesn't make it any easier. Enemies in the Nightfall hit just as hard now as they did when I was 240 and barely qualified. Its a bizarre system for sure.

1 ReplyYou noticed that too? In D1, a high light level was only useful for a few things. In D2, it's useless almost across the board. Max Light is ony useful, barely, for the Raid. Just another example of how uninspiring this game is. When it comes to RPG elements, nobody does it worse than Bungie. Classes are all these same. Races are all the same. Leveling just lets you use certain weapons. Light level has no meaning at the higher levels. Talk about lazy game development.

36 RepliesBecause in the first game IB, ToO, and PvP were light enabled but because the snowflakes cried about how hard the grind was and how unfair the higher light players had an advantage Bungie decided to disable it.

1 ReplyPVP need players. Many of player are disappointed with D2 PVE. Dual primary and mixing special with heavy weapons in 1 slot makes PVE boring as hell due lack of weapon choice. You have to chose between sniper and rocket. Based on that many players are in protest. They don't buy the DLC. If you put level advantage in IB, the IB will have very small player pool. It will make you have to wait a longer time to get a lobby...and you may face the hard core PVP. Then make you stop playing because its not fun for you..

It's either, lazy programming, or they intend to add it back in later for IB and Trials. It's pretty stupid that IB and Trials are not Level enabled in the first place.
