Missed the point. They reduce the cool downs on our supers.

Yea now our weapons can create orbs... big deal. As I said, If that’s all they wanted Masterworks to be was ORB generators, then they coulda left it with that being the only perk Or, just adjust the supers cool down/generation.... but Nooooo, they added the smoke and mirror effect to try and appease the masses wanting variable weapons. They did it in such a way, that shows us how stupid they think we are. We wouldn’t figure it out. Bungie: “lets give them end game by having them grind engrams. These engrams will RNG masterwork guns... but the best part is... all the effort and time spend won’t change a damned thing! And they will think their tinkering with their “builds”!” Sorry. I didn’t miss any point.

  • Actually you missed the point by a curvature of the earth. 1. This IS a big deal. 2. The reason why they didn't just adjust the super cooldown for the whole game is because that would impact both PVE and PVE in the SAME fashion. So by the time you got the super recharge rate to something that PVE players would be happy about..... ...you'd be back to where the game was last year. PVP players lining up to whine and complain about "ability spam" and "cheap" kills from supers. 3. By taking the route they did, they basically have the ability to tune the super recharge rate SEPERATELY for the two halves of the game. The way that they've designed the weapons, getting multi-kills in PVE will be a simple matter for anyone who has working thumbs. So as these weapons get more and more prevalent....the faster and faster players will get their supers back. OTOH, getting multi-kills is a tougher matter in PVP. So the orb generation won't have a drastic impact on play. What it will likely do is significantly reduce the SYNCHRONY with which people get their supers. One of the biggest PITA with the current game tuning in PVP is that----unless you are absolutely annihilating the other team----EVERYONE GETS THEIR SUPERS AT PRETTY MUCH THE SAME POINT IN THE GAME. Which just eliminated the impact that they have on the game. Because if you try to use your super, odds are that one or more guys on the other team have theirs. So they'll just shut down your super with theirs. Or vice versa. So no, these weapons aren't Gjallarhorns or IceBreakers or any of the OP weapons from D! that made your screen blow up, and threatened to break the game. What Bungie has done here is a really smart and really creative way to create some separation in how the games weapons and abiltiies perform in PVE versus how they do in PVP. Without blowing one side fo the game versus the other.

The fact is supers aren’t an issue in PVE. And if they are for someone they need to put the game down They shouldn’t be and weren’t an issue in PvP either except for the whining toons that couldn’t accept this wasn’t CoD (D1) I understand your explanation, however Bungie doesn’t care about pve. They pretend to but the whole reason PVe continues to have issues because all Bungie thinks will drive their game is the PVP market. And that’s why we are in the sad state we are in right now of Destiny So I don’t buy in to the fact they were smart. Nothing they have done in Destiny 2 is smart. Everything they do, they do with PVP in mind first, PVP in mind second... then PVE last. They have hooked their gravy train to PVP being what will keep players coming back. Not PVE. I wish that wasn’t the case, but everything they’ve changed from day one of D1 has always been about PvP not PvE (apart from cheese raid boss, etc).

Then most of the player base needs to put the game down, because supers are an issue THROUGHOUT THE GAME. Not just in PVE. Because one of the biggest complaints in this game right now is "We don't feel powerful!!" Its just a BIGGER issue in PVE, because the PVE player got DPS throttled going from D1 to D2, and the need for power-progression that makes loot-based games fun to play took a major hit. ...and these Masterwork weapons are first step towards undoing that damage. But---as a said earlier----the fact that everyone basically gets their supers at the same time is still a major problem. Because right now the only role that Supers have in PVP, is to shutdown OTHER supers. Bottomline, if you just want to vent your resentment over PVP controlling the way this game got designed, then we're done here. That milk has already been spilled, and there is no putting it back in the carton. So the issue is where do we go from here...and the MW weapons are a good first step towards getting us what we want, while working within the limits of the current game's design.

  • Fair enough. But I don’t see Bungie fixing pve in anyway shape or form. 3 years has shown me their pattern. Have a good one
