Can someone explain this Saint-14 thing to me?

Is he referring to us or the Speaker in the lore tab for Perfect Paradox? And if he's referring to us, can someone explain how the -blam!- we gave him the shotgun he gave us that we apparently crafted to give him?

  • He is talking about our Guardian and at some point in the future (for us) we did went back in time, OR, Saint actually went into the future. See how he talks about our (last) City as if he actually been there to see how it thrive so much better than his (last) City, and that he wanted to make his city like ours. We did crafted the shot gun at the forge, met him at some point down the road in the future and gave it to him, which he goes back to his own time do what does and ends up where we find him and craft that weapon again which the "thought to be Saint-14's" because it is and it isnt. Its ours, which we gave to him which he then (give) back to us. Remember during that mission where you find him floating there, our ghost says something along the line "I never told you this but i met saint-14, before i was your ghost. I always hoped that you would turn out to be like him, and you are and more." the funny thing about this is, your ghost hoped you be like saint-14 and to his relieve you have become like saint-14 and better, thats simply because Saint-14 looked up to us, he inspired to be like us. going once again a full circle. all we did was to be us, saint inspired to be like us. One other thing to point out is that we will (if gameplay or just a lore card remains to be seen ) meet saint-14 is this. "[...]Claiming he's seen the future, that he fought Six Fronts fueled on the idea that some Guardian savior is coming? That's insane." "Belief is a heck of a thing." "Sure, yeah. One Guardian's going to fix everything. Kick Crota off the Moon. Make it look like us Vanguard know our head from our hindquarters. Hey, where are you going?" "One of the new recruits from Old Russia I've had my eye on—entering the Crucible for the first time." "Hey, maybe they're the one. We'll call ‘em Crota's End." —Cayde-6 and Lord Shaxx this is a discussion cayde had with shaxx somewhere at the start of destiny 1. He's = Saint-14. So cayde was going down memory-lane discussing something he either read or personally heard saint-14 say it. The new recruit from Old Russia, thats us! funny thing about the post is that we do ended being called Crota's end. (i honestly do hope we will meet saint-14 in some time flux cause it seemed that our guardian spend some time with him that he actually got to know us on a personal level. the fact that the lore tab states "I never found Osiris, but I've killed enough Vex to end a war. And they, in turn, struck a fatal blow: they completed a Mind with the sole function to drain the Light from me. It worked very well. Don't worry >>(not that you worry much)<<. It took them centuries to build, keyed to the unique frequency of my Light. And I sit atop its shattered husk." the fact that we inspired Post legend Saint to become who he is, thats insane! imagine if he actually was still alive and he saw us! god! anyhow this is one of my favourite and saddest lore part of the game. also i know im like a year late to this post. lol

  • Perhaps that's why it's called "Perfect Paradox". That prophecy forged us a shotgun thought to be Saint-14's. We forged that weapon. So perhaps, in the future, our guardian gives him that shotgun to use himself. The lore does indicate that he wants the weapon to return to us. It also indicates that he looks up to us greatly, believing us to be the greatest guardian. And we are one of the greatest. We've destroyed countless enemies, a hive prince and god, a kell of prophecy, a Vex imitation of Hive sword-logic, and even our past, a golden age nanotech system spliced with fallen. Even someone of his status, loved by everyone and a champion of Light, wouldn't be able to put himself on our level. He wouldn't disgrace us like that. Somehow, the weapon we just forged is given to him in the past (or even future since Vex tech fluxes time) which is then retrieved by us in the present, as foretold, and forged into a weapon we think was his all along which we end up giving him in the past/future. If this is the case then this weapon is indeed a perfect paradox.

popular theory is its us, Our Guardian we time traveling now lads. if we do get to time travel, I hope we can fight at Twilight gap. Edit'd for a cool theory, that I have no idea if possible, I know Jagi's host of 6? I think went missing after Twilight Gap and where never heard from again, what if we had a raid team (6 guardians, raid like activity) going through time, helping out at Twilight Gap, giving Saint 14 the shotgun, then Dissapearing as jagis Host
