Destiny 2 should add a new mode as a FREE content update where it reintroduces all of Destiny 1 planets and the objective for the guardians should be to reestablish dominance over the solar system that once belonged to the guardians. The traveler is awake now, why wouldn’t the guardians try to take back what is theirs and remove the dangers at their doorstep.
Missions – Fight off allies of the darkness from the planet and establish a defense system. Each mission will lead you deeper and deeper into enemy territory increasing the resistance that the enemy puts forth, also increasing the difficulty and challenge for the players. These missions would eventually lead to a huge standoff with the enemy, where the enemy sends or summons its most powerful soldiers/weapons to fight off the guardians. *(Chance to introduce new enemy types – Give a more fleshed out feel to the enemies)
Public Events – Defend the defenses that the guardians have established throughout the planet. In an attempt to take back control of the planet, the allies of darkness have mounted attacks on the defenses that the guardians have established on the planet.
Raids – The culmination of war waged on the allies of darkness. This could be the “Huge Standoff” mentioned before, the guardians have reached the depths of the enemy stronghold on the planet and face the enemies’ last ditch effort to maintain control.
This could also cause changes to the story, where enemies maybe ally themselves with other enemies or maybe even surrender fully and are adapted to the guardians. (Fallen could be misunderstood. Doing what they must to survive. Guardians could show them another way.) It would also put the “Darkness” on notice, paving the way for Destiny 3.
