So I’ve only played the very first beginner single player mission. And I did it easily enough. But I seriously had no idea what I was doing the entire time. I don’t know what anything on my HUD means. I’m slowly learning the combat but that’s only because it shows you all your moves in the top right. I know there’s a training area but I didn’t think I’d need it. Does it teach you everything there? Cuz I’d like to know what the hell im looking at before I try the harder missions. I wanted to just experiment with the buttons and stuff but they made the -blam!-ing missions timed so I don’t get a chance to teach myself everything which sucks
Maybe it’s cuz it’s the very first monster hunter I’ve ever played but I was just super confused lol. Any tips?

Beat all 3 missions and got the -blam!- out of there. I can see why people may like it but I'll pass.

It's not like the old games. I'm just not enjoying it anymore.

If not, there is a practice area in the main menu and when jumping into the beginner missions in the beta the chick is pretty much covering the different things you can do in the world of monster hunter.

Try the tutorial and training grounds maybe?

It's not the type of game you can just jump into and play. When I first played Monster Hunter 4U on the 3ds I didn't like it. I had no clue what I was doing. However I came back determined to learn it and I did. This game does not hold your hand and is certainly not for casual gamers looking for mindless fun. Just keep at it and you'll grow to love it, trust me.
Insect Glaive is awesome.
Hunter Monster lol. Tip search out Wild Palicos they will teach yours the language of the smaller Dino’s. That way your Palico has a better chances riding Dino’s into battle. I kinda like you have to figure stuff out

Edited by weirdboy99: 12/11/2017 11:27:54 AMWell MH games have always been like that, this one actualy tries to teach you some things as opposed to the earlier games which just made you pick a weapons and go learn it. What I mean is that you'll learn as you play, and this is just a demo maybe the full release has a better tutorial. Basicly if you like the gameplay enough you should get the game, pick an easy to learn weapon and learn the game, after a few hours of play you'll get the hang of it and can pick another weapon untill you find your prefered playstyle. Edit:And the training area does help, it isn't perfect but it does explain the basics of the weapon you are useing.

On the top left of your screen, the blue circle is a timer that shows how long you have to complete the quest before you fail. The green bar is your health and the yellow bar is your stamina The little sword icon shows your weapon's sharpness if you're using a melee weapon (green=sharp, yellow=dull, red=very dull). Some weapons will have another bar underneath the sword icon that shows stuff like how much sword mode energy you have on your switch axe, or what notes you played on your hunting horn. Underneath all of that is a list of your team that shows how much health they have (green bar), what weapon they're using (icon on the left), and what kinds of status effects, buffs, and debuffs they have on them (icons on the right). The bottom left of your screen shows your map, and I don't know what's on the right of that. Lastly, the bottom right of your screen shows what consumable item (and ammo type if you're using a ranged weapon) you currently have selected, and I'm not sure what's on the left of that.
