How’s about this? Once a month for one weekend only buff a weapon to ridiculous values to the point where it’s broken in a new playlist called mayhem. Also bring back all the mayhem goodness from D1. Problem solved, Destiny PVP can be fun for people who want broken and people in other playlists can have their sweatfest.
