How does it calculate light level for drops?
I don't understand how light level gets calculated for loot drops. My light level is currently 315 and my LOWEST item is 309. Highest item is 322.
For about 3 days now the ONLY light level of any legendary or blue I get is 308. It refuses to give me any kind of item (other than 1 exotic a day) that is higher than 308. The exotics it gives me dont break 320 either.
What am I doing wrong? Is loot supposed to always be lower than your lowest light level? Am I bugged?

Easy take your Max level you can be say 320. This means all blues and normal purples will drop at 310. Which you can infuse to make 315 on each slot. Have a look at your loadout and see if any slot is under 315. If it is grind out public events / crucible what ever you like to get a blue for that slot. Once everything is over 315 you will probably find you max level may be 321. Making your slot load out able to be 316 with blues and purples. Always make sure you are at your Max power this way before handing in powerful engrams.

4 RepliesEdited by Pocket Fox: 12/10/2017 10:27:02 PMHere's the breakdown: Blues, vendor engrams, and legendary engrams drop at your FLOOR power level, and exotics drop at your BASE power level (not including the +5 mod). Your FLOOR power level is -5 of your BASE power level. Luminous engrams drop at a range of +3 to +5 of your BASE power level (again, not counting +5 mods). And the range rotates at each vendor over time. I am unsure of the exact rotations, as it seems possibly different in the expansion. In D2, they rotated EVERY THREE HOURS at each vendor starting at daily reset time. So you would continually check back every 3 hours waiting for those +5 rolls. The key is to KNOW YOU BASE. Easiest way to know your base is to add +5 onto your floor. You say blues are 308? That means your base is 313. Therefore, a +5 roll on your luminous engrams is 318, that's what you need to be waiting on.

I'm pretty sure only "powerful gear" engrams and exotic engrams drop at your current light. Normal legendaries drop at around 10 light lower than your current level in my experience.

1 ReplyDoes your 309 item have a mod on it? Infuse a 308 blue into a modded item will make it 313
