Classic rock is dead, and it will always be dead. There is no innovation, only uncreative replication. You should explore hip-hop. Right now is a very innovative and diversifying time for the genre. Rap is the new rock and roll.

Reviving is a bad idea in music, you should always innovate, go against the mainstream, look at the Punk of the 70's, they went their own way, made what they wanted, and changed culture hugely, they were against how formulaic and habitual rock had become.

Classic rock is a non-genre used by rock dads in their 50s to feel nostalgic, and used by (usually their) kids to feel relevant and cool. I don’t like the fervour people seem to have these days towards ‘vintage’ and ‘retro’ culture, as if the days of Creedence Clearwater Revival were somehow more amazing than today. We need to collectively take off our grainy sepia-coloured glasses. Undoubtedly there was good fashion and music and art ‘in the past’, but that doesn’t mean we should try to emulate that past just for the sake of it. We need inspiration, not emulation. It’s a good cover though, I would listen to more.

Don’t like the name of their band... also sounds like I’m listening to something that didn’t make the cut on Physical Graffiti.

Looks like all you le wrong gen kiddies will be able to sleep easy now, knowing that there's "good" music being made again...
