Bungie, your lore is deep and masterful, yet you apply it to the game with all the grace and skill of a two year child playing with a crayon and paper.
Why build up these iconic characters so much only to have them so poorly used?
Should have been called Curse of Sagira, Osiris barely get a look in.
There is almost no back story or explanation about Panoptes.
Absolutely nothing about saint 14 other than his floating corpse.

1 ReplyThere's no backstory to Panoptes because Osiris has known about it for years but NO ONE listened to him, which is why he was exiled. Panoptes works from the shadows of the Infinite Forest (Osiris was the only guardian to enter and leave before CoO), and that is why no other guardians know about it. Osiris doesn't do a lot because the expansion was literally about saving him from the Forest and preventing the dark future. Also, Saint-14's body can be found in the dark future. Meaning he may not be dead yet in our time. There is still more story to be discovered of Saint-14, as no Destiny 2 players have acquired his shotgun, Perfect Paradox.

This isn't really a lore discussion, just another bitch, moan, or complaint...and needs to be moved strictly to feedback, as it doesn't offer much in discussion, more like promotes repetitive explanation.

7 Replies<Panoptes is our resident Mind on Mercury, the one who was in charge of hollowing out the core to make room for the Infinite Forest. It controls the simulations and is key to figuring out how to destroy the Light and Darkness to make room for the perfect future.>

In Greek mythology, Panoptes was an epithet for both Helios and Argus. Argus Panoptes was a giant with a hundred eyes. He was also the nymph Io's brother. He was thus a very effective watchman, as only a few of the eyes would sleep at a time; there were always eyes still awake. Argus was Hera's servant. from wikipedia.

2 RepliesOsiris knew about the Oryx-LARPer for quite some time..,Vanguard and Speaker didn't want to hear any of it.....so they banned him from their clubhouse. . Saint-14......well it is a simulation of the future....so it can be a simulated death as you can see something that appears to be Light rising out of him.....or he's actually dead and got killed off screen......or he can still be kicking in present time. If he's still alive...I hope they do something good with him....like let us do missions and stuff with him....as he seems to be the kind of Exo who won't guide you on comms and will just do the shit with you. Also Myelin suspects we'll meet Saint-14 to give him his shotty, as it appears we're his inspiration.....and that we made and gave him his shotgun....yet we haven't done that. As he can't have his shotgun if we didn't make it and he can't give it back to us...if we never gave it to him because we never made it. A paradox.

You dare question Bungie?

Edited by Bharat Sahota: 12/8/2017 9:11:34 AMAs soon as I saw Panoptes, it was love at first sight. Panoptes, please simulate me hard!

1 ReplyThis is why the removal is grimore is a bad thing, we would actually get lore on every important named enemy we faced, legends about important characters including some of their back stories or what happened to them in the end. As a Titan main I was hoping that Saint-14 would be alive and we would meet him at some point, not just find his body.

3 RepliesI believe panoptes was known as the Gardner, which was mentioned in grumpier back in destiny one.
